Palatka Golf Club

Course was in horrible condition!!greens were terrible fairways looked like they haven't been cut an the list goes on. It looks like neglect to me..Always loved playing here but won't be back until they get it figured out.

The course is in poor shape. One of the worst golf courses I have played. The were air rating never told at desk and had greens in middle of fairway. DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY

Love the layout. Played it last in December and it was in good shape, but it was quite rough today.

The greens were a mess with many sand patches and they were extremely slow. Some were half sodded and we were asked not to walk on or play on the new sod. (At least they are trying).

The fairways were kind of sparse in places, and we played lift clean and place to combat that.

Traps in good shape, and it was a fun round none the less, but those greens - so many three putts with first putts stopping 5-8 feet short after blasting it. And if your ball approached the hole with just enough pace to go in, it would often veer off in the last few inches and miss.

Greens were in rough shape. Tee boxes were not mowed very well and some were had weed coverage. Overall the course is nice to play. Challenging and straightforward at the same time.

I think the course layout is great. However the course maintenance outside the fairways is horrible. The greens were in bad shape. I hope they can improve the course maintenance to give the course a respect it derserves.

Please advise patrons when check in. That conditions are not good . The entire course had issues !

I am a fan of Donald Ross designed courses but the condition of the course was unfortunate. Great layout but the ancillary bunkers were in poor condition and the greens in rough shape. Enjoyed the round as the layout and shot challenges are still awesome.

They had just punch greens and sand. Lot of course is needing big maintenance effort, but you can see this is just starting. People were very friendly. Course is nice design with narrow tee shots required.

This is the worst course I've ever played. It was so bad we left after nine holes and we paid for 18. Cow pastures are in better condition. Greens were completely burnt out and nothing but weeds and bugs. Tee boxes were atrocious with no grass just dirt. This course has been let go and little to no maintenance. Very disappointing.

Course seems to have major irrigation issues.

Here’s what you can expect……the staff is bland but not rude, tee boxes and fairways were good, greens were noticeably smaller than most area courses with a few brown spots but roll very true with reasonable speed, fair to challenging layout with a few dog-legs and surprising elevation for Fl., the coldest beer on tap with the best chili dog I’ve ever in 40 states.

T h e greens didn't have any grass on them. They are rather small targets. They were very hard and holding them was difficult. I'm hoping to come back later in the year and play again!

The course is what you would expect from a Donald Ross design - relatively short with small, inverted greens. The fairways were in good condition but the greens were mostly dead and weren’t holding for most approach shots.

My complaint, though, has little to do with the course itself. Rather, the staff was the least friendly that I have ever met while golfing in Florida. There was no welcome to our course, no introduction to the intricacies of the Palatka golf course and no starter to tell us when we were on the first tee. I was passed the key for the golf cart and that was it.

Although I usually make Palatka one of the courses I play in the area I fear that tradition has ended.
