Palatka Golf Club

I played this course for three years ending 4 years ago. This was my first time since then. My compaint is that they have removed a lot of the grass and replaced it with hard pack sand with a thin level of loose sand. If the wind blows you get sand in your eyes. And heaven help if you land on the sand because hitting a little low and you will feel it. I came home with a sore wrist. I have played golf once or twice a week all winter and never got a sore wrist before. In fairness, where they had grass it was green and nice. The greens were disappointing because the mower probably mowed uphill or had a bent blade. the grass was uneven and you could watch the bowl bounce over the grass.

The other issue for me was that to get on the green on some of the par 4's in two strokes you had to exceed 200 yards with each hit. I am a winter golfer rarely palying in the summer time.

This course is a good value for the average golfer.

The course was in very good shape, they are over seeding, but the greens are only marginally affected. The remainder of the course was in very good condition, and enjoyable.

Staff very friendly and course in good condition for this time of year. Will go again - good value for your $

I really wish GolfNow would start putting course conditions on here. This course is in terrible shape I would not recommend playing here until they get it fixed. There are two holes that are completely dirt. Greens and bunkers were the only thing that was good.

they charge additional fee if not residency in palatka.
and fairway is terrible. so may weeds and not maintained.

This is a 1926 golf course. Holes close together with gentle bends and more terrain changes than normal for Florida. No water in play. Overall a good place to play.

A course with several challenging holes like #3 or #18. Provides a good playing enviroment and for the price a good choice.

Was very concerned on many holes when my partner and I were on the tee box, the foursome behind us was hitting directly at us, poor layout, if you go for the flag there may be someone on a tee box literally behind the flag. Nice course other than that.

We hadn't played for 4 months due to health issues and this was the perfect course for a comeback. Beautiful open fairways and true greens. My only complaints was the women's tee boxes could use some work but it was a very advantageous for women golfers. Finished in about 3 hrs!! Short drive for a different course....overall excellent

They have done a lot of work on the fairways and greens. Worth the money, laid back, awesome hidden gem.

Everyone encountered in this outing were very friendly and helpful. From the pro shop to the bar and grill to the golfers themselves. The price to play coincides with the condition of the course. A fun layout but course condition will keep me from returning.

I was unpleasantly surprised by being charged an extra fee for not living in Palatka and thus not being a member of their Good Old Boys Club. This is the only course I've ever been to that penalized outsiders with an extra fee. A beautiful day and the place was still empty. Maybe if they didn't treat "Them thar outsiders" with an extra fee, they might attract more customers. That extra fee wasn't noticeable until after the tee time is reserved, making me very hesitant about returning there. And not having a map on the score card could made navigation difficult for new "Outsiders"

A friend invited me to play last week and I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. The fairways and greens are some of the best around.

Donald Ross course in great shape for a great price. Greens roll nice.

Challenging with great up and downs greens are slow fairways are.ingood shape

Had a great golf day! Couldn't rate facilities as they were under construction. Should be great when they are finished.

Had not played this course in nearly 20 yrs. I hope they continue restoration of this beautiful Donald Ross course. Condition is good plus-- hope the greens staff takes pride in taking what is now good to a level of great. A great walking track in the cooler months. Friendly staff. A wonderful play at a great price!

This course is short by modern standards, but was very interesting and challenging in many ways. Great routing, beautiful old trees and small tricky greens. Very friendly staff everywhere.
Also noted announcement of further renovations to clubhouse and overall facility. Great value!
