Palatka Golf Club
About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

A very simple course, laid back. What is not to enjoy...
Would play again because a golfer can score well here if the ball is on the fairway and you can putt fairly well on slow greens...
Friendly, helpful staff; well-kept course and equipment
First time played; course was in very good condition, and provided an interesting, enjoyable afternoon of golf. Staff was helpful and friendly, carts well-maintained, and the fees very affordable. We'll definitely be back.
Love the Raised Tees and Raised Greens
The course is open a little forgiving with open fairways
challenging and fun
Had a great time greens are in good shape airways r nice cut a little short and wet but nothing terrible everyone had a great time will repeat
For a 1925 era course, it was in great shape.
Staff were very friendly and willing to assist. Fairways were in good shape. A bare spot or two along side of the fairway. The solution was to stay in the fairway. Greens were in good shape. Overseeding was taking place -- lots of sand. They run fairly true. I enjoy playing the old Donald Ross courses. Many have disappeared or been reworked. I will return.
Course in great condition, really enjoyed it!
Have played there a couple times over the last few years. This is the best condition I have seen the course in. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The course is challenging to me but is set up to reward the average golfer. The 3 par 3's on the back nine are fair and can be a help. Really enjoyed the day with good friends, good weather, great course and great staff.
No crowds with great conditions.
The course was totally uncrowded. The staff made us feel very welcome. Except for some bumpy grass on the greens, the course is well maintained.
Great Donald Ross course! Well maintained and great staff.
Wonderful course. Recent renovations have brought this classis Donald Ross course back to life. Helpful staff, rock bottom prices, and nice conditions. I can't wait to return.
Left or right handed will have challenges
They have done a great job bringing this Donald Ross course back to an enjoyable golfing day.
Very well kept!
Wonderfully course with great history would highly recommend.
Beautiful course and wonderful sand....
It was our first time playing this course and we were greeted by a very friendly staff. The course had been reseeded a few weeks back and the greens were a bit slow but very tough considering I spent way to much time in the greenside bunkers. The sand was soft and playable. The fairways are pretty wide but still found myself behind a few trees from time to time. My foursome had a wonderful day of golf and will be coming back...and that is a 50 mile drive for us...each way.
Nice change from long holes and monster greens.
Enjoyed the challenge of shot placement and hitting to small greens. Deceptive in degree of difficulty, easy to get in trouble with trees and waste areas. Greens were very slow due to time of year.
Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to going back.
Donald Ross design course, must play
Original design Donald Ross course, only 6000 yards from back tees, smallish greens, not many traps, front of greens open for run up shots, par 70, friendly staff, very good food.
Great Value
Donald Ross designed 1925! Back tees are only 5900+ but the character of the course has not changed since it was designed. Famous clientele have played here over the years and the staff is very friendly and prideful of their history. It is truly a pleasure to play a course as it was originally designed and not changed like a lot of newer courses.
under repair
Tough day. Played well even though the greens had just been sanded, in preparation for 3 upcoming 'major' tournaments. Small, unreceptive turtle-back greens make scoring difficult. Trees being cut and needed to wait. Mens toilets were outside porta-potties, not fun on a hot day. MUST maintain focus as there is trouble on every hole. Due to maintenance it was a difficult day to get into any rhythm.
