Great value
Great conditions for winter. Some bunkers aare a little muddy and could use more sand. Nice greens but a little bit of crabgrass or something like it can affect putts. Fairway grass a little thin but typical for winter. Great, friendly staff. Kelly in 19th hole is wonderful as is the good. Nice beer selection.
Fun round
This a very well designed layout, the staff was friendly and helpful all interactions with staff and patrons was cordial. The course was dry as you imaging Florida during winter and spring but the course still presents itself wonderfully. My only recommendation would be if they are going to put groups on both 1 and 10 they should notify patrons on paying and have someone to alternate groups coming off 18 so they merge in smoothly. This course apparently gets a great deal of play and it appeared regulars understand that 5 hour rounds are customary. BTW it is worth waiting.
Customer service
I too played at 10:45 on Saturday 02/21. I booked on Golf Now, before flying from California to Florida to visit family. When we arrived at the course we were given a cart and asked to check in at the Pro shop. We were told we had to pay the cart fees because we booked online at the walking rate. Four days later and back in California, I get a call from Sarah saying we shouldn’t have been charges and she was going to issue a refund. Due to her great Customer Service, regardless of the conditions I would definitely play here again. Thanks for setting us up with two gentlemen who were fun to play with.
Bad GN listing, bad shape
I purchased a pre-paid hot now deal and upon checking in was told the Golfnow listing is incorrect and is for walking only, which they don't allow before 2pm (it was a 10:45 time) and they've "told Golfnow but they haven't fixed it" so they had to charge me a cart fee of $27. On top of the $50 I had already paid, making the total somewhere around $80, which is a JOKE for the current course conditions, which are frankly pretty bad. For that price I could have played closer to home, on a course in better shape.
Many tee boxes are dirt with no grass. Most greens are infested with a weed or alternate grass that causes tufts to stick up and makes putting almost as bad as freshly aerated. I get that we're in a very bad drought and just had a hard cold snap recently. At a correct price I would be ok with these, but not for what wound up being nearly $80.
I love the layout, but I won't be back anytime soon.
Nice layout but poor condition
The course has the potential to be a good course but it needs a lot of work. The greens were almost unplayable
Very challenging
Every hole are unique
Conditions not bad for winter time (quite dry )
Had fun to play there
failing
the cold snap took a toll.
everything was dry and dead. winter rules everywhere..only thing growing was the the crab grass on the greens.
Greens are in ok shape with some having little clumps of grass that need to be removed,as not to ruin the rest of the Greens. Fairways have little or no grass. Hope maintenance keeps up the good work to keep this Palmer course playable not like the last few Years.
Owner mean and unfriendly
Older man came up to our foursome on range and made nasty comments because we hit a few leftover balls we didn’t buy on the range before we teed off. Speaking to an employee we found out the man was the owner Chris. On the course some depressed areas on some greens that don’t have grass. Basically ground under repair areas on some greens. Maintenance raked bunkers with machine pushing majority of sand up in front of some bunkers to prevent further washouts. Left no sand in middle of bunker. Would not recommend this course.
Fast, fast greens
Greens need more water. Grass was short and hard.
I'm not sure why, but there are always very slow players that don't mind 3 or more groups backed up behind them.
Punched but playable
Playable until the lack of sand in the cores catches up with the greens. Overall very playable and the course continues to improve. Get some sand in the bunkers, groom them, and we might put the course back on our regular rotation in the area! Palmer deserves it!
