Nice course still needing attention
I have enjoyed playing this course over the last 3 years. The layout is nice the mixture of dog legs, straight holes, elevated par 3s, and open Fairways make for an enjoyable round. It's very evident a lot of hard work has gone into the course to improve the course conditions. I look forward to the continued Improvement. In my opinion it is very close to a 4 star, mainly because many greens still have dead spots, and the bunkers need upgrading.
Nice course
Course was nice. A few of the greens had bare spots, but otherwise well maintained.
Poor Pace of Play
During peak hours they need a Ranger on duty to improve pace of play.
A few rough spots, good overall
Some greens look great, some have patches of bad spot, a couple have large patches of bare spots. Most are around the fringe and no pins were placed near them, but they may come into play on short game or approach here and there. Understandable given the long drought in the spring/early summer we've had in the state. Tees and fairways mostly fine. Always a fun layout. Staff is great. Do wish there was water on course or a beverage cart, have to get everything from the clubhouse so be prepared.
Conditions not as good as in the past
I hate to say what I am about to say considering I shot a career low 67 at the course yesterday, but the conditions are not as good as they have been.
The greens had some really bad spots and a lot of the tee boxes are pretty chewed up. To be fair, many courses have been struggling this spring with conditions.
The layout is great and everyone is friendly. The bar/restaurant was closed for renovations, but it is a nice feature there. Great view of 18 from it.
I am hoping with warmer weather, rain, and maybe some fertilizer, everything will come back, because this course has been in good shape earlier this year.
Pine Lakes was in good condition. A few of the greens had damage. The pro shop clerk was very friendly. The Pub was closed for renovations.
Surprised
Last time I played this course several years ago it was terrible, today I was pleasantly surprised The greens were the best greens I’ve putted on in this area. The fairways were ok but need some work Pace of play was good .Played 18 holes in
3 hours and 45 minutes
I highly recommend this course
Nice course, lots of bunkers
Fun round, good pace of play. Lots of bunkers and I found more than my share of them. Some were in ok shape, others need work. Overall, very enjoyabe round and will play again if in this area.
Sweeeeet!
Bravo Arnie and the whole operation! Great food & beverage operation, as well. Only downside was the lack of a beverage cart.
I thought the course was in good condition considering the drought like conditions in the area.
The primary recommendation would be the parking lot needs to be repaved.
Greens
There are some weeds starting to pop upon the greens i hope the maintenance crew address them before they get out of hand
Has gone downhill?
This is the first time I've play Pine Lakes in about a year. The last several times the course and especially the greens were in great condition and I have recommended to many. After playing here last week I feel like I gave out some bad advice. While the course itself was in decent shape, the greens were horrible. I'm not sure if the groundskeeper who put it in such great shape last year has left or what has happened. Maybe they cut the funding for course upkeep or what? I sure won't be recommending play there to anyone I know until such time as there are some improvements. The pricing has gone up but the quality has gone down!
