Fast Greens!
Fairway grass is thin and short. If you tend to “pick” the ball, it’s tough. Traps are deep, but were well tended. Elevated greens can be tough to hold.
Greens are really fast, whatever the grass is(?), looks more like green felt on concrete!
Overall the course is challenging and worth a try. Picture is the 10th &18th fairways
I’m in better shape for my age.
Decent value for the money, I suppose, but not a high level golf experience. It’s one of those courses built within a housing development, and as the houses aged, so do the course. Bare spots and patchy greens were everywhere. The bunkers were hard and dirt, and the earth under trees was soft and sandy. Were I a better golfer, maybe I’d have adjusted, but the course conditions cost each of us about 5 shots. Once upon a time, the layout may have presented some interesting choices. For example, driver on 10, not a good idea, and the Ladin tees were moved up so that ladies can enjoy the hazards too. Staff gets bad grades for lack of attention, not necessarily for being unfriendly in the pro shop.
Pine Lakes in Palm Coast
I understand the pandemic circumstances, and I have been golfing the entire time within the same guidelines. I am 64 and I have always made Golf Now reservations, and I have "always" been given my own cart without being additionally charged.
First time that I have ever been charged additional $10 to take my own cart for my safety. The course cashier was willing to put me in my cart with a stranger for my tee time price paid online, and this was my first issue all year regarding my safety.
The cashier was very rude in his explanation, and I will not go back to this course again. Honestly, all aside the course conditions are not up to my standards. 5 out of 10 is a fair rating here.
great day for golf
great people, greens were very difficult to impossible, all else good
Pleasantly surprised!
I have played Pine Lakes many times when I come down for the winter! I like what is experienced today! Good pace of play. The course conditions were very good! The greens were rolling on the fast side! Much better than most of the local courses. There were ground keepers out all day. The restaurant was very good! This Arnold Palmer course was very fairly priced. And from what I saw today. The management is putting in a lot of hard work to make is better!
Nice layout
I like the layout of the course. Some challenging holes. The greens were not good, not a lot of grass. On a scale of 1-5, 31/2.
Lots of bunkers
Our first time on this Arnold Palmer designed course. We were met in the parking lot by starter Steve with a cart for us. He loaded us up and we went into the clubhouse. Nice place and friendly staff. The dining area looked good as did the pro shop. We were on our way shortly after arriving. There are four sets of tees available, adequate for most handicaps. Fairways are generous but are very tight. Water is not a significant problem, neither are carries. The course winds through a developed area but it’s not an overwhelming feeling. The greens are very fast and undulating. As with the typical Palmer design, there are many troublesome bunkers and it’s not a good course for a bump and run to the flag. We enjoyed our day despite my sand issues! 2-4-2021
sandy
fun layout
greens fast
fairways very sandy
overall pretty fun course
Liking Pine Lakes GC
Course has quite a few quick dog-legs which took driver out of my hand more than I’d like. Fairway grass was sparse and tight (better hope you don’t have to flop one over a bunker!). Tees, greens, bunkers were in good shape. A fun, tough, somewhat tricky track.
I give it a strong 4 out of 5.
A little hardpan condition but all in all not a bad course.
I would play again.
we did have a guy walk on around 6 from a house and played in front of us for 4 holes, held us up a little.. And we finished in 31/2 hours
Some improvement
The greens are now first class and being well maintained. Tee boxes are sub-par. Limited grass in the fairways and less in the rough. Both need aerating and reseeding; It is mostly like hitting off hardpan.
