Tarpon Woods Golf Club
About
Named after the creek that borders it, Tarpon Woods Golf Club is home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, alligators, turkeys, coyotes, and otters. The layout is not the Tampa Bay area's most challenging but it is one of the most scenic. Formerly Brooker Creek Golf Club, the club changed management and made several improvements to the bunkers, tee boxes, and greens in 2009. It has been a local favorite for more than 30 years. Overall the golf course is not particularly long but the front nine plays longer than the back. Each nine offers a unique set of challenges. The third hole is the longest and toughest with water that runs down the left side. There is also water on both sides of the approach to the green.

Great value
Me and my wife always enjoy playing there.
Not too hard and not too easy.
We are planning to go back many more times.
Nice layout but greens need work
This is actually an interesting course to play with some difficult holes. Has a great deal of wildlife. Unusual not to have a herd of deer watching you or running by.
Horrible Course Conditions
Our group plays many courses around the Tampa Bay area and we decided to give Tarpon Woods another try. The staff is very friendly, but the course was (again) in horrible condition. The greens are more dead grass and sand than anything else and the fairways are simply like hitting from a freshly mowed home lawn. The course has a great layout, but the management group simply doesn't seem to care about the condition. Needless to say, we will not be going back.
For the money it is a good deal!
Some of the greens were a little rough but overall the course played pretty good. We paid $10 for the round and you can't beat that. At least the management understands that the course isn't in the greatest shape and adjusts the price accordingly. Nice to see!!
Mostly in good condition
Tarpon Woods was a pleasent course to play. It had rained hard for a few days before, the course drained pretty well and was very playable. Some of the tee boxes needed some attention, but most of them were in great shape. The greens were in very good shape. The only thing that was missing was drinking water on the course. There are a couple of vending machines, but no coolers. Overall a nice place to play, especially weekdays where no one will be pushing you.
