Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

#18 Sprinklers Photo submitted by refrowland on 06/17/2019
Rain
Pretty good condition considering the lack of rainfall in this area very much enjoying myself with my guys today! Will soon be back!
Shameful
This is a really nice layout but really a shame the way the course is run down lots of bare spots. Greens really slow appears to not have been cut today.
Most upsetting was slow play group in front of us had entire back nine backed up today. No ranger in site.
Course really dry realize not much rain lately but they could run the sprinkler at least once in a while. Took friends and was really embarrassed with conditions. Might try again in fall.
Disappointed
Beautiful day for golf
Marcus Pointe is quickly becoming a favorite with its quick play and challenging holes. We have been really pleased with course conditions this entire year. Beer was cold and the beverage cart was around several times! Very friendly too!
GolfNow will not give me an option to cancel
I was going to play golf on Thursday April 23, but if got rained out, and I would like to get my money back! You can also see that I paid for one other person
Needs improvement
Slow pace of play due to five somes. Needs better customer service.
Aerated fairways
We started on the back 9 because the fairways were being aerated. This wasn't an overall hindrance but the balls would often settle into the tine holes. The greens were in overall good shape; however crab grass did affect the line on a few of our putts. The tee boxes were not very good - difficult to find a level surface to stand because of so many divots; perhaps moving the tee markers more often would solve this issue. The fairways on #3 & #5 are bare and the landing areas are hard pan dirt - these had both started to recover over the winter but they have since reversed course. The condition of the course is worth the budget friendly rate.
Very friendly staff
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We played on a Monday so it wasn’t real busy. The course was in good shape, always like coming here. One of my favorite courses for the money.
Solid Course
Course is in really good shape! Greens are challenging and plenty fast! Friendly staff and good facilities. Always enjoy Marcus Point!
Dry and thin.
I love the layout of this course but this time of year the whole course is dry and thin. Many of the tee boxes are so beat up they are nearly sandboxes. The fairways yield a lot of roll because it's dormant. No overseeding here. It ma be in better condition by April.
Good track
Course wasn’t crowded. Had to play thru a 2 some, 4 some and a 3 some but Still finished in 3 hrs.
Interesting layout, not much trouble. Fun to play.
Good greens.
One of my favorites but
They used to have a Marshall who could manage the Pace of play, pair people up and keep play orderly.
Today there were singles doubles walking riding and the course was backed up. They also had children with their parents slowing things down.
The fairways were not as. Lean as usual with leaves scattered across the fairway.
Players today didn’t want to pair up so you had singles and doubles all over the place slowing things down.
Fun track
Nice layout in a nice subdivision. Houses far from fairways.
Greens a bit slow. Nice sand.
