Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

The course condition and management has become awful
Played today and checking in was a huge hassle
This course subscribes to golf now but treats the users as second class citizens
I and other golf now users were kept waiting to check in while people with later tee. Ike’s were sent out ahead of us
My foursome were experienced players from different stAtes and we were shocked by the terrible treatment we received
Once out on the course it moved well but the fairways were in trrrible condition and the greens( there is not a strAight put on the course with severe undulation) were also in poor condition
Municipal course
Course is a little rundown but it's a good layout and challenging with many trees hanging over the fairway. Greens were decent. Fairways were a little sparse but glad to be playing in February
Probably a very good course back in the day. Pro shop was very good about letting us know of the delay on the back 9. Overall we enjoyed the round
Nice place to be!
Course is in good shape. A lot of players but pace of play was good for our group. 3.5 hrs is just right! Course is in good shape for amount of rounds played. Enjoyed it!
Very good course amenities
Played in gloomy weather, 53 degrees and cool. However, pace of play was great PLUS - course had a beverage cart today!
Very nice course
Nice long course in good condition. tough, but not overwhelming for a novice like myself. Very enjoyable course to play
Too many people ...
Too many people on the back 9. And my tee time was 1:18 PM. I was at the tee at 1:18 PM, but I had to wait for like 5 minutes on a twosome in front of me before I could tee off on the very first hole. Not good. I shouldn't have to wait for like 5 minutes to tee off on the very first hole. Poor management, but Ben in the pro shop was nice. Good driving range and good, large practice putting green with many holes. Also, a place where I could practice sand shots before my round. I had to wait often at this course. Pace of play wasn't great. The course itself was pretty good, though.
Good conditioned course
Course is in good condition with the exception of the greens where players don’t fix ball marks. Other than being bumpier than they should be it’s in great condition. Staff is very friendly and cart girl was around when needed. A good afternoon round here!!
The Greens
We had an excellent time at Marcus Point Golf Course! the greens and fairways was pretty good! and we love playing there.

Great Value, Great Course
We loved this course. It has the feel of an old course, even though it apparently was built in the 1980s. It is very fair, with tight, tree-lined fairways, lots of sand, and large greens featuring many slopes and undulations. Pace of play was great. My twosome played in under 4 hours. Overall conditions were quite good for the middle of winter after a two-week rain deluge that left most of the courses in the area sopping wet.
Wonderful layout
A beautiful little course with wonderful variety among holes.
Greens were a little difficult to figure out - though that’s likely a result of recent wet conditions.
Course was in great shape, especially considering all the rain over the last couple of days. Nice layout, challenging but fair.
Course is scenic, has all the challenges.
Enjoyed the round, quick greens with challenging placements. Head pro Ben Bates was involved from start to finish. Working the register when I checked in and picking up range ball bags when I hit some extra balls after my round, even took the time to hit some balls with me. Great afternoon!
great layout but poor shape
great layout
poor fairways many bare spots
many greens had large bare spots
when this course was in good shape it one of my favorite
Great course!
Couldn’t have been more pleased to play here. The course was in excellent shape. Teed off early and barely saw anyone on the course until the back nine. Greens were slow in the morning but quickly got fast as the sun came up and dried them. Overall really fun layout, can’t wait to come back and play it again.
Hot Dealer
Love this course. Have played it many times. The course is in great shape. I have no complaints about the course. However, I would probably play the course more if there was a Golfnow Hot Deal after noon. I can't use some of my Golfnow discounts for tee times before noon.
Course
The course was in good shape. It is not too hard but certainly not too easy. One of my favorites.
