Good Value
Reasonably priced course that is in ok condition. The course is fun to play, but can be quite slow. There does not seem to be adequate staff to properly manage pace of play.
Needs a LOT of Work
Compacted dirt fairways, much like a parking lot, but not that level.
Matted bumpy greens.
I realize it’s a Muni but it’s far below that level in terms of conditions.
To make matters worse, they have geofencing on the carts which shuts you down and then beeps so it’s hard to know you’re in a forbidden area- and protecting what? Theirs no surface other than the greens (barely) that could be worsened by driving over it.
Plus it’s meaningless- you can’t even pull up to the restroom on the front nine.
Course needs management and a green’s superintendent- probably related to funding. Cities usually end up closing courses once they are left to deteriorate this far.
Won’t be back.
Neglected
It's sad, but understandable that, while the City of Pensacola can come up with millions to refurbish, and even expand, the Roger Scott Tennis Center they can't, or are unwilling to fund sufficiently their once-beautiful municipal golf course.
Other golfers
Every time we play here it seems like there is always slow moving golfers. We had a group in front of us that we skipped a hole because they were so slow....there was a whole hole and a half open in front of them. When we went around them, they started yelling at us! Maybe you need to have some rangers out monitoring the pace of play.
Ok at best IMO
It was OK, but I am not sure how many shots we played actually we off grass. To be fair, we are new too the area, and it was the first time playing around Pensacola so I am not sure how it rates in comparison for the area, and time of year.
JUST COLD
Our twosome had no delays playing and no one pushing us. The green were bumpy. If the weather had been better we would have enjoyed ourselves
Pace of play
First time in years that the pace of play was good. In the past we would get behind some 5-somes that were not very courteous.
We had a great time. Friendly staff and great price. A few of the holes seem jumbled together but fun to play. I'll be going back soon
I had no idea where I was shooting
This was my first time playing this course and it was a nice course, but it feels like they stacked the tee times too close together. We had 2 groups behind us before we finished the first hole. We are by no means great players, but we can keep pace.
The saving grace was Lauren. She showed us where the nearest restrooms were, she was very friendly, and my girlfriend said she was amazing.
I will play here again now that I know the layout, but I was not using any map, so it was a little tough to navigate the first time around.
Average course
The fairways were very rough. The staff acts as if we are playing at a country club instead of a city course. Course layout is not great. Each hole piled on top of another. Overall just an average experience and course.
