Harbor Shores
About
Harbor Shores boasts a Jack Nicklaus Signature layout that plays through a stunning landscape of forest and wetlands. The golf course tumbles across hills and ravines blanketed with hardwood trees, providing a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. Thanks to the massive white sand dunes that edge along the water, the course has a truly links feel. When combined with the trees and natural water hazards provided by the landscape, the golf course becomes a truly formidable test. The seaside location also guarantees that some holes will be played into the prevailing wind. The trio of holes from the seventh through the ninth plays along the water and offer scenic views of Lake Michigan. There are 10 holes that border the Paw Paw River, Ox Creek, and their surrounding marshland.

This course is pristine.
Spectacular views and course layout. A bit long betwwen holes 6 and 7, 13 and 14, but well worth the ride. Staff extremly friendly and courtiuos. Would recomend this course to anyone.
Disneyland in Michigan - who knew!!!
Started the afternoon with a delicious lunch in the clubhouse. Then, off to the practice facilities for an hour. I recommend at least 30 minutes or more on the putting green getting practicing long, extremely long, putts. The layout of the course is unique - every hole has its own personality. The greens are ridiculous. It just may have been Sunday pin placements from "heck", but the undulations, ridges, etc, don't allow you to be able to scramble to save par. For example, I hit driver, a career three wood over the marsh on the longest par 4 and had a fifty foot putt with 10 feet of break and a roller coaster hill brought in from Anaheim. Glad that I played, but not going back. Give me Arcadia Bluffs.
Wow !! What a layout !
The most challenging course I've ever played. Tee shots are intimidating to the eye, yet the fairways are generous. The greens are increbidly tough, with severe slopes and they are super fast. Approach shots must be to the correct spot or impossible putts are the result.
A spectacular visual feast, with views of two rivers, upland forest and most impressive, the shore of Lake Michigan & Silver Beach. It's incredible.
The most challenging course I've played
Plan on playing this course many times. It's in perfect condition, will challenge your distance control and frustrate you on the greens if you put the ball in the wrong spot. You will use every club, and enjoy great views of the rivers, rolling country and most of all the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The tee shots look intiimidating to the eye, but fairways are generous & the greens are extremely severe. From some spots it's impossible to stop your putt within ten feet of the hole, so play your approaches with great care.
I'll be going back for the third time in the very near future.
Beautiful course that plays difficult and is too pricey.
Unfortunately the course had been totally aerated and the 17th green was being reconstructed because the PGA deemed it too severe so that particular green was a temporary green playing 40 yards shorter than the distance the actual green plays.
The course was beautiful, difficult, to play, and too pricey. A few of the holes and some of the greens were definitely built for single digit handicappers although womens tees were quite fair. The on-course staff was very helpful and friendly. The clubhouse staff was friendly but a but stuffy. Some of the areas surrounding the golf course seemed unsafe because of older factories.
Bring your A-game, take full advantage of the practice area and putting green and plan on putting a few big numbers on your scorecard. A camera may also be a good idea to snap a few photos of beautiful Lake Michigan.
the course was fun to play but tough
Great course watched PGA seniors play it had to try it. It is a very nice course but greens are very unforgiving if you land in wrong spot. No other course like it around here. Landing areas from tees are very fair on most holes. Price is very high so can't play it often but if you get a golfnow deal not so bad will play it again.
For better golfers.
You need accuracy to play this course. Driving area is open, but then closes down near the green. Most all greens are undulating and quick. It's a rider, as it's about eleven miles around by cart.
I'll spare the sarcasm. Arcadia Bluffs a similar amount of undulation in their greens and they're just as fast.
