Not bad
As many have mentioned, the fairways need work. Greens and tee boxes were good. Staff was friendly. Fairly easy course. Not alot of trouble. Enjoyed the round.
A work in progress
This course has tremendous potential. I was told there were new owners who are making improvements to the course. The tee boxes are ok, the greens are ok, the fairways are threadbare and weedy. I was told they would overseed when the rainy season begins, but that won’t happen until June at the earliest.. This is the beginning of February, so we’re talking around 6 months from now.
I would recommend the course if it is an absolute bargain, because it has a great layout with fairly wide fairways , less water than many other courses in the area, and you’re able to hit out from under the trees.

Getting there
The course is in much better shape than 2 months ago. They replaced one of the pumps, overseeded the tees and the greens are coming around. Fairways are still thin so you’ll need to play winter rules. All in all, good course to practice on for now but if they keep maintaining it, it could be really good since it’s a very user-friendly course (wide fairways) right in the heart of Port Charlotte. Keep up the good work!

when conditions are not important
The staff was very friendly and helpful and people around the club were very nice. The course conditions were the worst of any course I have played in Florida. If course conditions are not important to your enjoyment then this would be a nice place for a casual round. I think we generally expect too perfect of conditions and everyone is playing the same course so just go out and have fun. The staff will treat you right.

Have played here several times over the years. Course conditions are improving as the staff works to make it a good place to play.

Course is not in good shape
The fairways had very little grass. Traps nice compared to past years. Greens were ok. A little hairy. Not worth the price they are asking.

Great Course
I play here all the time. They don’t overbook, so play moves along well. The restaurant is very reasonably priced and the food and service is good. I LOVE that they are beginning to offer Resident Consideration! I wish everyplace would offer incentives to FT FL residents!

Great staff! Challenging layout but is forgiving! Can’t wait for this spring to see the improvements in the fairways! Greens are in excellent condition!
