I have a teatime at 11:06 AM I was in my cart the starter came up to me and says you’re gone earlier with someone else took me out of my cart young gentleman that he put me with I did not want to do with them I ended up going he almost ran me over twice twice took off when I was halfway in the cart it was basically a circus I only played eight holes

Getting better
I normally don’t get to play this course until later in the year or after the first of the year. Usually the coarse is so dried out and in poor condition, but today things were looking pretty good. Another person told me someone else took the coarse over. I have always liked the place and hope to see improvements continue
Good layout
Fun and challenging course. Opportunities for low scores. Not in the best of shape but still playable. Would love to go back when the course is in better shape.
Poor conditions
The tee boxes where like hitting in a cow pasture. Fairways and greens in terrible condition.

Course Condition
Needs a lot of work. Fairways and greens are in bad shape.
Port Charlotte
This course has changed. What was once a beautifully maintained course with a great layout has been let go by ownership. The greens have lots of bare spots, the fairways are full of mixed weed and various grasses with no consistency, the tees are chopped up in places.
What this course needs now is an influx of money to bring it back to its former self. Covid could have a lot to do with lack of maintenance along with a lack of customers.
But the opportunity to bring it back for the winter crowd is shrinking by the day.
I love the course layout and its challenges but it needs fixing if management expects to attract the seasonal crowds.

Greens just aerated and topped.... putted not bad at all... There are some tee boxes being worked on... GREAT... They are doing what all facilities need to do... put money back into the grounds... Keep it up!
Pretty Terrible conditions
I know this time of year in south Florida it can be tough to find a course in good shape. That being said...Port Charlotte golf club was still just awful, there are ways to keep your course playable while still doing your summer maintenance and they have not figured that out. For some reason the golf staff at Port Charlotte thought it was a good idea to throw temporary tee boxes on the side of hills that are covered in weeds. It doesn’t really matter though because even if you’re in the fairway on every hole you will still have a hard time finding a decent lie. I truly hope they get it together, but for the time being stay as far away from this place as possible. There are few words to describe just how bad the conditions are at Port Charlotte golf club.

Fun course
Fun course, greens are better than they were 2-3 weeks ago but still need some work. Great price though.
Worse shape I've ever seen it in.
The greens had mostly sand on it it and weeds growing on them. Fairways had little grass to hit off of. I think this was VERY overpriced!

Don't go for a while
I had played the course in the past and liked it enough to go back and bring a buddy who had never played it. The major problem is no one told us the entire course is under construction. This is due to replacing all the tee boxes at one time. Temp tee boxes are placed on terrible locations. Turning the course into a par 64 I think. Not a lot of good holes out there right now. Don't understand doing all tee boxes at same time. Will not go back for a while. Also the rest of the course needed mowing and general attention. Neglected I guess to all the work on the tee boxes.
Might be ok next year this time but for now----- play elsewhere.

Course has great layout
Greens were in bad shape. Course was a good layout and fun to play for the price.

Horrible conditions
if I would have paid anything more than a hot deal I would be livid, worse condition I have seen since I moved to Florida 3 years ago, tee boxs dirt, fairways mostly dirt and greens full of weeds, lucky if you could find grass to hit from, frankly don't waste your money

Very bad conditions
This course needs a lot of TLC . Golf now should remove them from their list of courses so people are not getting ripped off!

Very poor conditions
Course is in pretty bad shape I might play there for 10 dollars just to get out and hit the ball if no other course is available with a decent price

Course in recovery
All the greens are in terrible shape otherwise to course is in recovery it has been neglected for years

Needs better maintenance
Tee boxes were a little dead in spots, Fairways were in good shape mostly. Greens were really rough. Pace of play was great.

Good Course, weather has taken it’s toll.
Greens are in nice shape, fairways have many areas with little or no grass. Practice putting area in rough shape. One can tell that the grounds crew is working hard to maintain the course. It appears the weather and considerable play to this point has taken their toll. Having played this course for many years, there is no question that it will recover and one would certainly rate it higher. Some good soaking rain and continuing care will turn the course around.
