These greens are fast and in excellent shape
I have played many of the courses in the Port Charlotte area and this is the best of the lot with first rate (green) fairways and well kept bunkers. Watch out for the greens because a downhill putt will have you well past the hole if you're not careful. Our first 9 was a little slow but the second nine was fast without anyone chasing us.
Good features
Have made some nice cosmetic improvements to course and greens were in excellent condition .The pace of play was slow as their was to much congestion due to a local torun ament that was been held that day.
Nice Course. Beautiful Greens
Great course... Very challenging... If you start after 3 you will not finish all 18 holes...
Challenge is on the greens
This course has generous fairways on most holes. Tee shot placement is important to scoring on the dogleg holes. Greens are very firm, will hold a full short iron with a lot of spin but short chips will not grab due to the hard surfaces. Greens put OK, average to fast speed and roll true.
Very Good Value
Somewhat overbooked. Slow play, but a good value. Would play again.
Would Play This Course Again
The course is nice, There are holes that try you. It's fun to play. They over sell the course, it can get slow.
Over all it was good.
Pace of play was ridiculously slow. No Marshalls/Rangers.
On Sunday, January 12th, 2014 we had three foursomes tee off at this course. We were put off the back nine instead of the front which is not usually a problem. The pace of play on the back nine was slow but tolerable. However when we made the turn and began to play the front nine it was like we hit a wall. We were following a foursome that was teeing off on the blue tees but only driving the ball as far as the red tee boxes. We had to wait before hitting each and every shot. By the end of the 18 holes the foursome in front of us was at least 3 holes behind the group infront of it. No Marshall/Ranger or management to move them along. Nice course but no management. Not the first time we have had a similar problem at Port Charlotte. On our previous visit they slid a twosome infront of us at the turn which turned a slow round into an even slower round. No consideration shown by management for the paying public. A management review could make Port Charlotte a pleasure to play.
Fun course
Very play friendly. Wide fairways but very fast greens.
Simple layout, fast greens
This course essentially is a down and back flat layout. Some areas where difficulty ensues if your off the fairway or on a couple narrow holes next to residential areas.. The greens are in great shape but ridiculously fast. Most are shaped like a mound, with slopes off each side. Your best approach shots won't hold most surfaces. One of our group had a five putt. I played well but 3 putted 9 greens.
Beautiful well maintained course.
Fairways have plenty of green grass and well manicured. Greens were smooth and rolled true. Starter went out of his way to see that we got off to a good start by allowing us to switch from nine to one tee so we weren't behind a large group.
nice course...wide fairways...not too many hazards
The course plays fairly easy. The greens are somewhat fast. There are not too many hazards. Some of the greens are elevated and require a good shot to stay on. The course is extremely flat. The people we met were very friendly including the two guys who were paired with my with and me.
Nice track
Enjoyed this course. Plenty of "space", fairways a touch wet in spots due to watering and greens had been sanded otherwise would have been lightening fast. Overall good !! Will play there again.
good staff
course is in great shape lots of golfers but good pace of play
nice course
we were received at the pro shop in a friendly manner. had a hot dog before the round, very salty, not recommended. the practice putting green was very slow. the let us off early and that was a bonus. the fairways were in good shape. the tee blocks were huge and also in good shape. the greens were extremely fast and it took a few holes to get use to them. overall a very good experience
Fun day....excellent staff
Course was great and challenging. I was partnered with 2 members who were great. They told me where and where not to hit my golf ball :) Lot's of fun and enjoyable.

Nice fast rolling greens
Course well maintained! Greens run fast! Well managed for pace of play!
Everthing was just great!
I often reserve a single tee time. But when i do, I love to play with new people. I've done this quite often at Port Charlotte, and each and EVERY time, I meet extremely welcoming golfers. It just might be the friendliest course in Charlotte County!
Poor pace of play. Staff not friendly
I've played this type of course before and didn't like it then and still don't. Staff just puts in their time and could care less. I found the pace was poor and tried to find out why. This is what I discovered. NO RANGER to make people keep up. Ahead of me was a FIVESOME followed by twosomes then space space space the a SLOW ladies foursome. WAIT WAIT WAIT every hole. Never again!
A good course to practice and improve your game
The course is not difficult. Fairways are pretty wide and rough was cut relatively low. Water hazards are on fewer than half of the holes. Any houses beside the course are pretty much out of play. Greens are firm and fast and most are fairly flat.
Overall it is a good course to work on your game.
very basic
a good way to pick up your game again. The course is well maintained, wide fairways and nice greens. Staff is friendly.
