great value, easy to play
Great value, easy to play, completed round in less than 3 hours
Good value
The course was in good shape, despite the rain before and during my round. Overall it was an enjoyable course, not too difficult. I will likely play here again.
Played three times
Overall course in above average condition. Greens in excellent condition. Tee boxes in average to below average condition. Farways in above average condition. Staff frendly and helpful but guy managing got weird when we wanted to take carts to car to pick up clubs....strange to make a fuss over such a thing when entire compound is gated and secure. Guys running mowers could show a little more courtesy to golfers...took them a long time to acknowledge our presence when teeing off. We didnt want to hit into them and they were aware of our presence. Overall thumbs up experience for the price if you dont sweat the small stuff!!
Best value for your money
Great time with friends and nature
This course is okay.
Have to give credit to the staff because there was torrential rain the night before, however, the conditions were not great, fairways not well maintained, and there was nowhere to eat while playing 18.
Sandpiper Course
Course was nice, staff was friendly. A major flaw is the only location to actually eat (not pick up a bag of chips and a drink in the golf shop) is their main restaurant which was an expensive buffet.
They need a separate area specifically for golfers to pick up a quick burger, hotdog, fries, chips and a soda in lieu of the expensive buffeft, which would also take up alot of time.
The price $50 was higher than average for the course layout and having really no place to eat unless you want to add another $30 on for the buffet.
Every aspect has improved!
I recently moved back to the area and before I moved I played Sandpiper on a regular basis. Since my move the course has been improved from the fairways , greens, and bunkers. Overall I really enjoyed this round and the new greens are in much better shape with the old bald spots finally filling in. The greens were a bit slow but still a definite upgrade. The fairways look like they have had some serious weeding compared to my last round and they seem so much fuller compared to my last round.
Don't go
Terrible course. Bad course conditions, worse greens. Big muddy patches with no grass on the greens. Terrible pace of play, got backed up and had to wait at least a half hour to tee off at one point. No marshals to be found to try to speed things up. Also, no beer carts to be found anywhere
Greens
Found the greens to be in poor conditions, still needs lots of work
Not worth the money
Disappointed, I was expecting more from a Club Med. Needs landscaping, a few flowers would be nice, a bit of color. The greens were in bad shape.
windy!!!!
The course was fine, the greens were good and fast but the weather was brutal.
This place must be going broke
Nothing good can be said about this place. Even with golf now rates, its not worth the money. Do yourself a favor, skip Club Med spend a couple more dollars and enjoy the game.
The unfriendliest staff I have met ....
We are currently on a round trip through Florida playing different Golf courses. Out of 8 courses the staff at this course was the unfriendliest we have met so far.
The course as such is not bad. In very bad shape though are the greens. These people obviously want to earn money without working for it!
Good layout, disappointing conditions
I played in a tournament at Sandpiper Bay @ Club Med on the 24th ( U.S Kids Tour ), and I was very disappointed to find the conditions of the course. The fairways were not that bad, they were quite soggy though. The rough was thick, and in parts were awfully muddy, due to the amount of rain we have had in the last month. The greens is where I was very disappointed, they were all muddy. They didn't roll too bad, but it was just upsetting to see how badly the greens were cared for. It seems that the other amenities at the facility are the places where money is put, the driving range is good, but the course is just not in good condition. Needless to say, it is a good layout.
Not a diifcult course
Greens are still in pretty bad shape as I understand that new groundskeeper has taken over. Fairways are good but, like everything else in Florida right now, it's pretty well water logged.
Still no bar or restaurant for the public golfers which is a pretty big minus for them, they could certainly use it.
Good Golf
It is a nice challenge for to play here. Usually a little wet but you just have to adjust for it. Greens roll better than they look.
The greens were partially under repair and not in good shape
IWe had a 1pm tee time, that was changed to a later time, I had to show my confirmation , which I did and was told they didnt know what happened, so we had to go out later on a different tee time. We were disappointed at that.
Needs work
In all fairness there had been a lot of rain... the course was mud... i think they should of closed the course as the carts were making a mess of it.... the greens where very bald.... needs work..
Greens
The Green were awfully bad shape
The worst Greens in Floride This
year
Worlds worst greens
Greens have algae growing on them with hardly any grass .
