Club Med Sandpiper Bay

Course is under new management from what staff told me. Staff is very friendly but course is in poor condition due to reseeding. Back 9 in better shape but greens need work. It'll be nice to play in a few months.

We played this course on Sunday and I have played thus course many times before ..but it started with the guy checking us in checked in somebody else under our name ..sent me off without a key to the golf cart ..ok so after I came back to get the key we start our round ..we quickly caught up to a 4 some in front of us who would not let us pass and quickly had a back up behind us and the ranger seemed oblivious to this ..we left after nine holes ..

Great value for the money. Greens were level and true speed was about 9 on a stemp meter. There were bare spots with no grass on the greens cart path were in poor condition drinking water was available

I know we didn't pay much to golf there but the greens were aired so no putting and the course was so wet it should have been closed. Usually enjoy Sandpiper but not yesterday.

Paid $14 Inc golf now fee, what a bargain, played in 2.5 hours overall good condition greens were very slow relatively easy course fun to play

First time playing at the course and was very impressed from the start with an employee picking up our golf bags right from our vehicle. The course was very impressive for the value with good tee boxes, fairways and greens. It was a very fun 18 holes on a challenging, well maintained course.

It's interesting to read the previous reviews, where some say the conditions were good and others say terrible. I guess everyone has different standards. The fact is that half the greens are marginally okay and the other half marginally not. They Stimp at about a 6 1/2 (I carry one in my bag) and they don't roll all that true at times. The grass on the greens is okay, not terrible, but not great. When it rains, this course retains water. As this course is part of Club Med, you have a bunch of people who really don't know how to run a course. A few years ago, for some unknown reason, they converted the par-5 1st hole into a par-4 where, if you play the back tees, you have to hit over the new practice putting green. The former par-4 10th is now a par-3. They turned two good holes into two awkward holes. The design of the course is good; now they just need someone competent to manage it and put some money into it.

Always friendly staff , challenging course for a par 70, great place to play.

course needs maintenance greens were slow and bumpy , traps all different, tees in bad shape

Some temporary tee boxes but the course was in better shape than I expected.
My major complaint is still the same. No bar/food area unless you join their membership which is what they want you to do.
They are missing out on a lot of business because of this practice. Too bad. It's because of this that I only play there out of necessity when there's something up with other courses I want to play.

The course's conditions were absolutely terrible. The course puts sand under the fairways and toughs, and the grass on the greens are not tended to, explaining why there are patches of dead grass. I would not play here ever again, even if it was for $20. I would suggest playing at PGA Village nearby.

I had not been to this course in about 2 years. The last time I played the course was not good at all. What a nice change they have made and the course was in really nice shape. The fairways and greens were fine, the tee boxes are being upgraded so I will not pass judgement on them.I will be back soon.

The course was in good shape. It is a relatively easy course and quite forgiving. The greens were in good shape but quite slow. Overall, it is a stress-less course and enjoyable to play.
