GREENSIDE DEAD Photo submitted by PGIgolfer on 09/08/2019
Disappointed
Played Twin Isles last winter 5 times and we loved it. This winter not so much. Course was in bad shape and their charging way more then what it's worth. The greens were in good shape.
Great staff!!
The staff was super friendly and the course was very nice. Fairways were in a bit of rough shape but the greens were great! Got around the front in just under 2 hours. Got to the back and they had put some groups off in front of us so got delayed but still got around in 2 hours 15 minutes.
Twin Isles
Too bad a course with this much potential is in such poor shape. Definitely not worth the $140 it cost to play. Should be in the $75-$80 range.
Average. Course looks tired needs basic maintenance upgrades. No drinking water on. Course water coolers needed “Chinese” parts to repair. Fish kill in pond on back nine, smell was almost sickening. The hundreds of vultures overhead was a clue. We were told “birds would eat the dead fish and it would be better in a few weeks”
Good luck with that! Had friends in from out of town, out of the 5 courses we played, by far this was the worst.

Pond disaster
Course was in good shape fairway to green. Greens rolled well; only issue was water around the course had an environmental issue and hundreds of dead fish lined the edges. Not a pleasant sight or odor. I booked a deal tee time, wouldn’t play at listed fee.
Dead Fish Issue
The course is in great shape but it’s not worth $138. Starting on #10 thru #13 there are hundreds of dead fish on the banks of the ponds. Also, there are dozens of vultures and others birds pecking away. The smell is extremely bad. Not a single person mentioned the problem in advance.
Dead fish
While the course was fine none of the ball washers had any water in them. Yardage markets were few and far between and lots of ground under repair. When we got to the back nine the smell was atrocious from 10 thru 15 there were thousands of dead fish in the ponds and vultures everywhere. There didn't appear to be any effort being made to clean up the mess. If your going to charge top rates you need to provide top quality service, Or at least let people know the situation so they can make a informed decision.
More carts needed
Overall it's a decent course for Florida. Where they dropped the ball is there were no carts for us to use to take to the driving range, so on an 85° day we had to haul our clubs to use the range after paying $120 for the round.
Dead Fish in ALL lakes
My best guess is something similar to RED TIDE.
It is overwhelming - the stench
I hope they spend the money and remove all the carcasses
It will become a health hazard soon, if not already.
