Awesome course
No driving range currently. This is the reason I only gave four stars. There is only a putting and chipping area. However they are planning on make a brand new driving range facility hopefully by spring. I think was said it will be indoors or covered or something like. The course was beautiful today. Really fun course. Would highly recommend.
Fun course
Chimney Oaks is so fun. My family and I play here when we can. It’s forgiving in some holes and challenging in some as well. Greens are unmatched in our area. We love playing here.
Excellent lay out & fast green
It was excellent lay out course also fast green and undulations is ver challenging but people play there need to learn what is golf etiquette is, our sum was playing on going pace and all of sudden white guys about three holes behind us starting to yelling at us we're holding and slow down but wasn't.
These white folks acting like a they're owns this course.
Idea of playing golf is enjoying the day with some frineds anybody don't want to bother by this kind of lunatics.
Again, course is very very nice!!!
Fantastic Course/Great Community NE of Atlanta
I played Chimney Oaks GC this week and was very impressed with the entire golf experience and the community. This course and neighborhood are about an hour northeast of Atlanta just off I-85 - Commerce exit. The course was in outstanding shape and the bent greens were rolling fast and true - I have rarely seen greens in this good shape this late in the season, but the speed was perfect. The Bermuda fairways were fantastic and while the greens were firm and fast, the fairways allowed you to hit approach shots with maximum spin to get it close to the pin. My group played 18 holes in 3.5 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. The pro shop and golf services staff were extremely helpful and the new clubhouse with full restaurant and bar looks great. This golf neighborhood is on the move with new housing construction on/off the course, a new fitness/wellness center and an apparent huge investment in the golf course and all amenities. If you are looking to get out of the Atlanta area to enjoy a tremendous golf experience and golf community lifestyle, this course and neighborhood offers everything you could ask for.
Wow!
After one playthrough, this course has jumped to my absolute favorite around! It was given a "make-over" in 2019, and I never played it before then, but it is perfection now. Forgiving enough for the beginners to enjoy, yet rewarding for the experienced, my approaches to the green always left me with appreciation and a smile (even if my shot did not haha). Can't recommend enough.
Quick Greens
Great course, nice layout with very fast greens. We played a 4 hour 10 minute round and the ranger was constantly on us and other groups to maintain pace. Pretty unnecessary in my opinion as my wife played a different tee box than the other 3 of us. There were also a large number of cigarette butts on EVERY hole and around the greens. Perhaps if they were as diligent about ensuring jerks didn't litter cigarette butts as they are about pace if play this wouldn't be an issue. Overall a great course to play we will definitely return again soon.
Slow
People are nice
Place is lovely
Dawdle would describe the pace
Almost 6 hrs
The course is pretty open-4 hrs should be easy
Course In great shape
Greens were excellent. Fast. It true. Fairways in great shape.
Wonderful experience
Definitely In Our Rotation
First time playing here, and will admit that it was a fun layout.
The golf course challenges you through the first 6 holes with accuracy off of the tee, then changes it up when the undulations of the greens starts to become noticeable on approach shots.
The greens were in great shape! A little slower than you would expect when looking at how tight the leafblade is, but the undulating greens and bunker locations do plenty to protect the pin placements.
As a self professed “golf course snob”, I had a great time on this course and would recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging short course.
My only complaint was the pace of play on the back 9. Going to the grill at the turn for a sandwich or drinks takes you past the tee on number 10, so it slows everyone down and creates a bottleneck.
There is also not a lot of definition between the fairways and the rough, which is a small complaint that’s easily fixed.
Props to the GCS and their staff. They are doing a very good job and of given a bigger budget, could make this golf course very nice!
Beautiful Course
A bit of a drive but definitely worth it. The staff and pro shop were friendly and helpful. The course itself is in fantastic shape and the greens are a treat to putt on. The beverage cart came by 4 times in the round so no shortage of opportunity to get refreshments. This is a real gem for a public access course and a must play for all handicaps.
Chimney Oaks Golf Course
We found this hidden gem in Homer GA about 3 months ago and have returned multiple times.
The course is in excellent condition from tee to green. We love the "river sand" in the bunkers.
The greens are true, smooth and challenging.
The entire staff is extremely friendly and professional.
A gem of a course 30 minute drive from Braselton, GA
My dad and I loved the course. Championship Tiff Bermuda greens were perfect condition and were the perfect speed. The course layout is friendly off the tee and a lot of character to the holes. The staff from the starter to the cart girl to the waitress at the grill at the clubhouse were very friendly and made the experience that much more enjoyable. Will definitely be back!
A Gem
Great course! Excellent greens and course condition! Pleasantly surprised. I’ll be back for sure.
