Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Tough course
I like this course because it is a challenge. You must drive the ball well off the tee. Fairways are nice and fluffy, a few crab grass spots around the greens. Greens were not as fast this day as I have seen them in the past and were fairly easy to read. Overall, I would give this course a 4 out of 5. Definitely will play again as long as I can get a discounted tee time.
good course for good value
only 22 bucks for a round, pace of play was about 4-4.5 hours for round, well kept course, lovely round overall
Solid Course, Challenging Layout, Quick Greens, Great Value
Solid course. We play here often on Saturday mornings. It’s a very challenging course, lots of Par 5’s, different par 3’s varying tee shots, first Hole is my fav. Beautiful layout.
Get a Wine Slushy at the first hole.
Great time always love playing this course. Good conditions for the price.
Interesting
I had always wanted to play this course so I grabbed a hot deal for my first time. The staff was very friendly upon my arrival and sent me on my way.
Then it got interesting. I got lost going to the first tee because it is a good 1/4-1/2 mile from the clubhouse. The signs kind of pointed you there but no true guidance. The course is in good shape, the greens are nice but the routing is peculiar. With the extra par 5's, par 3's, and distances between some holes there is not much of a flow.
Many of the greens are raised and have severe banking so if you miss on the wrong side you are in trouble. There are quite a few forced carries with challenging angles from the tees as you move farther back. They might be easier from the forward tees but I did not check that out. Basically it is a challenging course which might be kind of frustrating for a casual golfer. You need some local knowledge to do well here.
I would play this course again because I like the difficulty.
Hidden Treasure for Charlotte Golfers
Love this course!
You can use all fourteen clubs playing at Redbridge! If you are looking for challenges, and also fun playing holes this is the course.Iam a higher handicap player, and this course allows me the freedom too swing away.Just can't say enough about Redbidge!
Missing Marshal When You Need One
Course in fine condition, weather superb. Appx 1230 tee time, started 15 late. Marshall scolded our group for being off the 90* rule, deserved it. However, the 4some in front of us had 2 - maybe 3 open holes in front of them on back 9 - walking in woods talking on cell phone, just no concept of common courtesy or letting group play through - no marshal in sight when needed one. Finished in RECORD TIME of nearly 5.5 hours. SLOW PLAY KILLS the game. They were totally unaware and could care less, even waiting around 18th green yacking while we hit approach shots and putted out. Etiquette is a learned trait - but some pointers from the pro staff would help.
Excellent layout, course in good shape, really enjoyed the round
It's challenging but you must be hitting your ball accurately to score. There's plenty of trouble on the course
Always Good
Played Red Bridge a number of times. Course is always challenging and in good shape. Perfect weather conditions and for a Sunday afternoon round getting done in 4 1/2 hours was good. Greens rolling true and overall the course is in good shape.
Great course
Great course nice little pro shop. Beautiful scenery and greens.
Great course!
Course is in great shape. Large, undulating and fast greens. Fairways are generous but hills and doglegs make it very challenging. No two holes are alike and the setting is wooded and no traffic noise! Tee options make the course playable for all skill levels. One of the best public courses in the Charlotte area.
Glad to finally play Red Bridge
Have always heard great things and finally made it for my first round and I can't wait to get back for another. If you play with other first timers do yourself a favor and get a yardage book. Fun mixture of holes, 5 par 3s of varying length, 5 par 5s with some reachable in 2 and some 3 shotters. Three of the par 4s require a forced layup/target distance.
Great value of $36 for a 9:24 on a Sunday morning, not overly crowded and pace was fair.
Greens are excellent, fairways great, bunkers had consistent amount of sand and tee boxes were fine.
Definitely worth the 45 minute drive from south Charlotte.
good solid course. I would play again
I"d rate it 4.5. It's not perfect, but very good condition and is unique in that it has 3 par 3s, 4s and 5s per 9 holes. We had a lot of people behind us but no one in front so our pace was excellent- 4 hours for 2 people. I'd definitely go back. You would not want to walk it as there are some long trips between green and next tee (although a junior tournament was there and they were walking. But then, they are juniors!)
Great day at Red Bridge!
Great green fees, excellent layout, challenging greens and pin placements, several water coolers on a hot day were appreciated
Fun course
Fun course with perfect greens! Lots of woods and trees. Minimal houses. Pace of play is always good here
Great course, challenging greens, friendly staff
Both my wife and I really enjoyed this course. It was challenging, especially the greens, which were "wicked" fast and had some difficult pin placements. It would certainly help to have someone who knows the course when playing the first time. We will definitely go back.
Excellent Course
First time at Red Bridge. A nice track just east of Charlotte - well worth the 30-minute drive. The course was in excellent condition with both the fairways and greens in awesome shape. Very enjoyable round and great value ($40) for a course of this caliber.
The layout was a bit confusing as it appears that they the hole layout has been changed since its opening. My GPS device had the holes in a different order so it took a bit of effort to sync up the GPS with the layout. Once accomplished everything was accurate. The other comment on the layout - 3 par 5s and 3 Par 3s on the front.
The holes are challenging with tight fairways and blind shots on some holes being off set with shorter distances. A premium on the ability to hit straight, not long. The greens were in great shape and fun with plenty of break on most putts. I'm sure at some point there will be more homes around the course, but right now it was nice to play a course with pretty much no homes in sight- just the natural surroundings. I will be back.
Great
Great value and course was in great shape. The greens were devilishly fast....and the rough was...well rough! Left a lot of birdies out there!!! Going back to get them soon!
