Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Gnats!
I really enjoy playing this course but the gnats are unbearable and swarm to you as soon as you step in grass.....anywhere!
No fun to play
Course in great shape but beware of the Nats. They attack you from hole 1 until you get off the 18th green. I talked to someone in the clubhouse after the round and they said that it was just Mother Nature and they were not going to spray to take care of the problem. It is so bad that they were giving a lesson and had to stop because the student could not focus. If you are going to play here I highly recommend you put on bug spray.
Great day of golf
Played in 3 hours as not to many people were on the course today. Surprised it wasn't cart paths only with all the rain. Noticed only a few wet spots as the course drains extremely well Course is always a good test from the back tees.
Terrible conditions
I have played this course a few times and the fairways were absolutely terrible. I am not a reviewer, but it was so bad, I felt I needed to write this. The weeds made the fairway feel like a pitted rough.
Great layout
Greens were in excellent shape but the fairways were just ok
Love the layout!
Great value!
Ice buckets
Love this actual course, great layout and great challenge. I was very frustrated with their cooler rules. They do not provide you with a cooler, even when purchasing their drinks. They did not provide a drink cart on the course and they refused to let you bring your own cooler even with only their ice and drinks. Instead, they give you a lidless blue sand bucket to put my drinks and ice in. We bought 12 beers and we were given a bucket in 92* weather. Needless to say, after 20 mins, the ice was completely melted and then just splashed all over our backs and clubs. When we asked to transfer our drinks and ice to any another type of device, we were told no.
Good layout, friendly staff
Great course to get in a weekend round. The practice green is tough with no flatter areas where the course greens aren't as difficult. If you read greens fairly well and roll the ball good you should have plenty of scoring opportunities, but they're still pretty quick. I rarely get to a course with enough warm up time to hit the driving range that's not the best, but it's not a country club. No practice bunkers or chipping area. Course layout is pretty good and has a few difficult holes. I play from the white tees ( just up from the tips because I carry about a 12 handicap ). Beer and dogs at the turn but that's about it for food.As my ball striking continues to improve and my sores get closer to par, I more appreciate the more difficult courses. All in all, I would recommend this place to anybody that asks.
Good value for Charlotte area
Played this on consecutive days (Friday and Saturday). Fairways had some crabgrass, but greens were in magnificent condition. Quite a few holes where driver was not an option, but love the creativity those holes required. Clubhouse staff was very nice and good selection of area collegiate team merchandise. Will definitely be back.
Friendly Staff Tough Course
I've played here many times. It's always a pleasure. We were treated like guests. The course was in pretty good shape. A few of the tee boxes could use help.
Who knew...
Great course. Fantastic layout and phenomenal greens. Incredible value!
Conditions
Started playing Red Bridge about 2 years ago and the course was always in great shape. Now most of the tee boxes are sand and there are tons of crab grass in the fairways. Also, if you just slightly miss a fairway you can find yourself in gravel. The greens are in excellent shape though.
Good round
The tees, fairways, to the greens were in good condition.
Great hidden gem!!
This is a great course in great condition. It looks is consistently good. It is a challenging course requiring you to hit all shots. One of my favorites.
Not what I expected
Expected some poa annua for this time of year, but not that much. Tee boxes and fairways bad, greens are good but that is it.. Never going back, played golf in 5:52 minutes! Never saw a ranger??? I cant afford to drive 40 minutes to play golf in 6 hours.. No excuse!! We had 2 fivesomes in front of us, but it didn't matter they were not the problem.. Could have gone to the beach and back at that pace.
Red Bridge Early April
Course is in great shape, especially to be so early in the season. Great layout, decent food options and drink cart service. Worth the drive no do doubt.
