Red Bridge Golf and Country Club

About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Great Course!!!
I hadnt played Red Bridge in several years, but i could see immediately why this was one of my favorite courses. Staff has always been awesome. I played with another single and during this pandemic where we have had to distance ourselves from everyone, what a delight to have another single player that was so nice and so friendly. Thanks Blan. Thanks Red Bridge crew for a incredible stress free day for me
Challenging course
Greens held the ball well and rolled true, not too fast but not too slow. Fairways well kept. Roughs were long enough to present a challenge. A well maintained course.
Small things make a big difference.
Course was a great layout. Only had issue with tee boxes being almost bare on many holes. It was a little wet and I slipped on a tee box because it was more mud than grass. Fairways and greens in great shape. Just outside fairway grass gets exponentially thicker so golfer beware if you don’t make fairway. Lost a few balls because of this more than normally thick rough. I would recommend to a friend with a stern warning beware of conditions.
Played Early
I played surly on Sunday, staff was friendly and efficient, course was in great shape. I recommend this course to friends often.
nice course, good greens, crappy parking lot
I play here just 1-2 times per year even though not that far from home. This is a nice course with good greens. Not too crowded and pace was good. Range is far from Clubhouse and Hole 1. Condition of temporary clubhouse and parking lot needs attention.
Quick Round
Played a quick Round this morning in about 3 hours (helps to get out there before 7:30 AM). Fairways and greens were in great shape. Tee boxes were ok, not great. Rough was tough as it should be. Live 15 minutes from the course but don't usually play it due to the staff normally being rude. Today was different in a positive way. Not sure who the guy working the shop was but he and the guy at the cart return were bother great. A welcome change. Will be back soon.
Good value
Fairways were in good condition. Greens were in good condition, holding the approach shot well, putting true yet challenging. Play moved well, with one threesome allowing faster groups to play through. Roughs were long enough to present challenges to advance the ball accurately.
Worth the drive
Red Bridge is about 30 minutes for downtown Charlotte and worth the drive. There had been significant rain the week leading up to my round this past weekend, but the course drains well and we were still 90 degrees with the carts. The driving range is ample, but has a downhill and uphill portion making if a little more challenging to judge distances. There is a very nice chipping/putting green beside the driving range, but had no holes or flags.
The main putting green beside the clubhouse is my only knock of this course. There is not a flat putt on the green and the entire green is sloped heavily.
Overall the course is in good shape, but is one of the most unique layouts I have ever played. There are three par 5's/4's/3's on the front, and five par 5's overall to a net 72. Each fairway demands thought and accurate tee shots. Every hole has at least one side that line with trees/water/OB. The fairways are grown-in and the greens have been well maintained through the summer heat. As mentioned, there was a lot of rain in the area before I played, but the greens rolled true and were running around a 8-9.
The white tees do play to 6250 yards which is average, but the course plays short. A lot of the 6250 is made up in 3 holes which are 2 par fours over 430 and 1 par 5 at 618. Conversely, 5 of the par 4's play at 350 or less with one < 300 yards. (#17 which I think would be better suited as a par 3.) The course favors a left-to-right ball flight for a right handed play as only one hole goes right-to-left.
Excellent Condition
This course will test your skills. Greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Well worth the drive also Great Staff.
Hidden Gem
Red Bridge is a hidden gem, this is my favorite layout in the Charlotte area, every hole has a unique challenge. Course is in good condition, greens roll true but slow. Don’t be afraid to make the drive, it’s well worth it.
Fantastic
We had a great day at this course. The fairways we in great shape, the greens were in great shape. The carts were nice and maintained. I’m a 90’s golfer and this course was challenging but not over challenging. Overall one of my new favorites here in Charlotte. I’m taking a new client there in Thursday
Great Track Outside is Charlotte
Great value for less than 30 minutes outside of downtown CLT. Gravel parking lot may scare you upon entry but don’t worry. Everything is beautiful on the course.
Nice layout that leaves some fun decisions to be made off of the tee and on the approach. Rough was very challenging at probably 5-6 inches and thick, so don’t miss the fairway. Hole placement was true to the pin position card. Tee boxes and greens were almost immaculate, and fairways were about 90% with only a few dry patches (seems like from drainage in most places near the bottom of slopes and along the edges of trees).
Only critique for a first-timer would be the lack of course layout on the card and no hot dogs at the turn (but COVID so understandable).
Overpriced for the location and course shape
Some of the Tee boxes were very rough
$65 for course all the way out in Locust mean I probably won't be out there again this year

Hi Alex, we appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Red Bridge Golf and Country Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
Great course and in nice shape!
Hit ‘em in the fairway and putt ‘em good. You will enjoy Red Bridge!!
Back again!
Can’t go wrong at Red Bridge! Awesome condition and pace of play was great today. Greens still nice deep into the summer. I screwed up today and showed up at the wrong time (I missed my tee time by about 2 hours) and they had me out in less than 20 minutes. I’ll keep coming.
Every week
My group plays here every week. Nice staff, good price and interesting and difficult. Some fairways are hard with thin grass. Trying to fix some of it. Couple of holes are very difficult for everyone. 18 is long with a raised green with a creek in front of it. Always plays into the wind. All tees except ladies is over 500 yards.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We hope you'll bear with us through this transition and give us another try in the near future. Thanks for choosing Red Bridge Golf and Country Club.
