Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Good test
The layout of this course provides a good test of your game. Plenty of dog legs, ponds, and well positioned bunkers are lurking, though the fairways are wide. My wife and I enjoyed our round at Westcott.
Better than ever!
Couldn’t be happier; the course was in fine condition, the staff friendly as ever and the pace of play was terrific! It was like playing a private course with no one in front or in back of us. Maggie, the starter, is the best!!
Great Golf...
Very nice golf course. Staff was friendly. Greens were great. The pace of play did get slowed down, but we were able to finish in 4 hours.
Good course for a muni
Played nine holes in league play. Three nines available; played Burn Kill which is between hardest and easiest. Course in Ok condition. Greens true, but fairways still to grow in. Good driving range and great clubhouse/bar available.
Wonderful track with a great layout.
Wescott is a great course, 27 holes and they all have their different challenges to them. Greens were a little slow because of the rain but the greens were beautiful.
Enjoy the pace of the rounds today and the weather helped with playing conditions.
Not impressed
Played Wescott because reviews made it sound like a quality course, well maintained, and in good condition. It was none of the above. It’s claim of not being like most muni’s is just simply not the case. The course layout is mundane. Not one hole stood out as a well designed or interesting hole. The fairways and rough were sparse, especially for a southern coastal course. The grreens were decent, but an invasive weed was present on all of them, causing putting to be less than ideal. The part of my experience that was the most disappointing was that every tee box was littered with about a hundred broken tees. That just lets me know that neither the staff nor the regular players care much about their course. It’s too bad this Charleston area public course is so bad. I guess I’ll play Wild Dunes or Kiawah next time I visit the area.
Nice Layout
This course could be a lot of fun. The conditions were terrible but may be it’s the time of year. Dead Bermuda with hard pan underneath. Tee boxes were mostly dirt. Greens rolled pretty nice.
Great experience
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, Clubs unloaded & directions to pro shop where the staff was attentive and helpful. Nice practice range with extra balls lying around for a quick warm up.
Played the challenging course with 2 young USAF gentlemen. Fairways bunkers came into play way too often for my game, but overall course conditions were great. Considering the beautiful weather and number of golfers pace was excellent.
Always fun
Friendly, competent staff, little slow on the back nine today , but it was a gorgeous Saturday!
COURSE IS GETTING BETTER
PACE OF PLAY, FOR A MONDAY WAS SOMEWHAT SLOW. COURSE CONDITIONS AND GREEN WHERE IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE THEN LAST TIME I PLAY OUR THERE. GOOD JOB TO COURSE CREW. PLAN TO GO BACK.
Nice course
Course in good shape considering it's end of winter, course doesn't punish for minor mis-hits but does punish for just plain bad shots. Good selection of tees. Staff friendly, especially at the bag drop off
Nice layout and really good greens!
Pleasant round with friends on a cool and breezy day. The greens here are first rate but in stark contrast the tee boxes are terrible. I know it’s early in the golf season but it doesn’t look like any attention is being given to the tees. Fairways are just ok but I’m sure they will improve when dormant grass starts to grow. Come on ! Give the tees some love too.
