Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Black Robin Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation may be owned by the city of North Charleston but it is far from being your typical municipal course. The 27-hole layout is divided into three nines: Black Robin, Burn Kills, and Oak Forest. They each take their name from the plantation's long history, it's one of the oldest in the area. Care was taken to preserve the centuries-old live oaks and pristine wetlands that are scattered throughout the entire course. Black Robin is the tightest of the three nines with small greens that make it the most challenging as well. Every hole is framed by lush vegetation and various streams, ponds, and wetlands come into play throughout the course. The golf course ends with a welcome chance for a birdie in case you didn't fare too well on the tougher preceding holes.

Westcott
Tee boxes in awful condition; Fairways could gave been better; greens rolled nice
Wide Fairways Nice greens
I enjoyed myself very much, played with
A threesome that, was knowledgeable, of the course and friendly We all enjoyed the company....
Wescott #1
Course was in decent shape. Fairways were firm so drives were getting some good roll. Greens were OK but people don’t fix their ballmarks. Pace of play was a bit slow but just a bit over 4 hours.
Unacceptable
The pro shop attendant was rude and unpleasant. The course was dry and seemed to be unmaintained. Overall was a D. I get that we are in a different environment in the world. With that, we still shouldn't be treated like we aren't welcome instead of guests.
Great Day of golf
This was a great find for our last day of golf while heading back home to New York from Florida. The course was very challenging but very fair. The greens had been aerified so the putting was a little tough but they still rolled fairly good it was just hard to get the right pace. That is on me not the greens. All in all it was a great day playing golf on Easter Sunday with my wife.
Golf w/o much grass
There was very little grass growing on the course, even in the fairways. If you like hitting off of very little dead grass or almost no grass then this is the place for you. Greens were OK except whenever they aerated (several weeks ago?) they really didn’t fill the holes very well. Tees were OK. Course was dry for the most part, and greens were not soft! The layout for Burn Kill and Oak Forest were good; many holes were gentle doglegs or straight. No funky holes.
Great round, great pace
Incredible round and facility top to bottom. About as good as a public city owned golf course can get. Pace was awesome!!!!!
A lot of fun
Enjoyed playing this course for the first time with my 11 year old son. Was challenging but fair. Great value.
Grass
While the food and beer are great, there did seem to be any grass on the course sti dormant so a lot of roll.
