Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Black Robin Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation may be owned by the city of North Charleston but it is far from being your typical municipal course. The 27-hole layout is divided into three nines: Black Robin, Burn Kills, and Oak Forest. They each take their name from the plantation's long history, it's one of the oldest in the area. Care was taken to preserve the centuries-old live oaks and pristine wetlands that are scattered throughout the entire course. Black Robin is the tightest of the three nines with small greens that make it the most challenging as well. Every hole is framed by lush vegetation and various streams, ponds, and wetlands come into play throughout the course. The golf course ends with a welcome chance for a birdie in case you didn't fare too well on the tougher preceding holes.

Ive given this place too many chances
Im so over the pace of play. Starters ignorance and no on course amenities. I will only play here when everywhere else in town is booked.
Course was fun to play. Generous fairways…just enough hazards…visually pleasing…greens on first nine had been recently aerated, but didn’t affect course play too much. Good bargain…would play again!
Fun golf experience
Great value…nine holes had recently been aerated, but didn’t hurt experience. Wide fairways to help all levels …good condition…busy because of value., but pace was fine.
The staff was extremely helpful. It was difficult to use the HOT DEAL card and the staff worked with me to accomplish my goal
Worth the money
I visited Charleston/Mt. Pleasant for a long weekend and played three courses,..this was the best of the courses especially for the money. First day I played Patriots Point....i listened to the hype and was underwhelmed....especially paying about $100 per person. Heard later that Patriots Point was apparently built on a Landfill ....which now makes sense...very flat and virtually no trees. The second and third day we played Charleston National...nice track, and the price of $46/person was nice, but you played 1-9 holes twice since they were working on new cart paths on the back nine. Wescott had a even better layout, lots of beautiful and challenging holes for $60/person. Only gripe was that the rough desperately needed mowing...later heard that Tropical Storm Debby drenched the area so they were late to mow. The net is that although it was a little drive from Mt/ Pleasant, the course was worth the effort.
Good, but...
I really like the course and pace of play is great. However, no warning on the driving range and putting green being closed, so no warm-up. Also, cart path only and the course was soaked, they have a drainage problem
Course was a gem!!
This was my first time playing Wescott. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but once I got there I was already impressed. The clubhouse was nice and so was the staff, but nothing came close to how good the course was. I would play this course 100 out of 100 times. Fairways, 2nd cut, bunkers and greens were all in mint condition. The course is challenging, but the fairways are wide enough where you aren't punished too severely if you happen to spray a drive left/right. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the course. I 100% recommend it and think you're cheating yourself out of a good afternoon by not playing it. --- Careful though, there are 10ft alligators on some of the holes and there are copperheads everywhere. I saw 2 in just one round, so be careful in the weeds.
Play day
Overall it was great experience as usual except thid time had to play behind last team in a tournament for the first 9 holes. I didn't get paired with anyone.
Nice overall, some tee boxes need help
Course overall was quite nice. Employees pleasant.
Would have liked a bit more info on scorecard, or perhaps a yardage book. As a 1st time player here, I could've avoided some trouble if I knew the course better.
All fairways and greens were in excellent shape, 4-5 tee boxes needed repairs.
Pace of play was excellent, price good value for conditions. Would gladly play again.
