Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Black Robin Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation may be owned by the city of North Charleston but it is far from being your typical municipal course. The 27-hole layout is divided into three nines: Black Robin, Burn Kills, and Oak Forest. They each take their name from the plantation's long history, it's one of the oldest in the area. Care was taken to preserve the centuries-old live oaks and pristine wetlands that are scattered throughout the entire course. Black Robin is the tightest of the three nines with small greens that make it the most challenging as well. Every hole is framed by lush vegetation and various streams, ponds, and wetlands come into play throughout the course. The golf course ends with a welcome chance for a birdie in case you didn't fare too well on the tougher preceding holes.

Talk about a great place to play!!! Here visiting from Florida and was really looking forward to trying out a new course in a different setting. Course was in very good condition, even with all the rain from the night before. Very scenic layout with all the tall pines lining the very WIDE open fairways. Greens were amazing. Good speed with some challenging reads. Everyone there was extremely friendly, especially Ms. Maggie. Driving range was a bit crammed and very saturated (again from the rain night before) but other than that I would highly recommend this course to golfers of all skill and age levels.
Best Facility in Charleston
Best course of the 4 we played here. Nice to combine 2 of 3 together for a nice 18.
Very nice public track!
Very enjoyable round of golf. Course was in good shape with an interesting layout! Well worth a visit!
Great course!
Really loved this course. Challenging, in good condition, would play here again for sure. Great value. Our pace was bad because of one group in front of us, but I don't think it's usually like that. Greens were visibly in good shape, but their speed seemed to vary a bit. Also, no cart girl for drinks on the course when we played. Other than that it was a great course!
Nice layout but poor conditions
First time here. Staff all around was great but the condition of the putting surfaces was pretty miserable. Not sure if they had some type of disease or just poor maintenance but they were barely puttable. Could be a wonderful course if conditions were better.
Always a great time!
New courses in good condition Pacer playoff game golfers wear fun to be around staff was excellent just an all-around good day. Shot a +3 on blacks that day....so everything was wonderful
Spring golf
I played a few other courses in the area, and came back several times within a week period. The course was in good condition. The design was nice and challenging but fair. The greens were fast.
Good deal
I had a great day at wescott. I played the burn kill kill and black robin. Burn was great, greens were quick and in good condition, great layout. Only complaint on the black robin was the greens were a bit bumpy and in rough condition. By august they will probably be great. Overall a good afternoon.
Good value course to play
Good price. Reasonable condition. Greens were good and fast.
Average course condition
We got a golf now social of $28 for 18 holes. So the value is great for our round. Green is bumpy. Fairway is in decent shape, spring grass is still growing out of the brown dead leaves. Some spots of the fairway is bare but most of them address playable. On the fairway, you will see a unique waves of green Patten, caused by the storm.
Great layout
Excellent course layout! Winter dormant conditions or would have been all five stars. Greens were in really good condition & rolled smooth/quick. Really enjoyed playing this course & would definitely play again if in the area!
Baked and almost Unplayable
There is something the managers of the course didn't realize WATER helps the pace of play. . The fairways are baked to a point that they are unplayable. knowing your distances means nothing because on two occasions hitting a shot that was well within my normal distance for that club, because of the baked and arid fairways caused the ball to run up on the fore some in front of me, forcing me to wait and holding up play. Greens will not hold even flop shots. . also the superintendent should teach his minions how to cut a hole and not raise the turf around the hole. . on a scale of one to ten, at this time I would give it a 3. . .
Decent Course for the value
Stayed at Santeria. Made a 50 minute drive to Summerville to Play at Wescott. Good Enough course for 26 bucks. Because it was a cold day not many people out there so pace of play was very good.
Great Golf
