Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Burn Kill Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation is a 27-hole course that is situated within one of the area's oldest plantations. The beauty of the Lowcountry is evident throughout the golf course with centuries-old oak trees framing all the layouts and lush vegetation along every hole. The names of the courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin, all have origins in the plantation's history. Burn Kill is tighter off the tees than Oak Forest, but more generous than Black Robin. The golf course has a classic bunkering style and there are streams, ponds, and wetlands interspersed throughout for added challenge. The 8th hole is one of the most unique holes of the entire course. On this par 3, the black and blue tees attack the green from a completely different angle than the white, green, and red.

Golfer Reviews
Loved it!
Played two of the three courses and enjoyed them very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I stopped in the clubhouse after for a beer and sandwich and enjoyed them as well.
Course review
This course was in excellent condition. My playing partners and I plan to put this course on our rotation.
Great course
Wescott lived up to expectations! The course is challenging but fair in Summerville!
The fairways, tee boxes and greens were great! I look forward to my next visit.
Nice course
Nice option if you're planning to play a few rounds of golf in charleston. Course was in good shape for a municipal and there are some challenging holes. The three nine hole combinations give you a few options.
Best game with good weather
good fairway condition with thick rough and great green condition. All of friends like this course.
Wescott good condition
I love the course. I like how they put it together. I like that they have 27 holes.
Great course
3rd time playing this track. All three courses are fun and in great shape. Friendly staff. Greens roll true and are well manicured. Will definitely continue playing here!
Don't they realize it's summer?
I like the Wescott PGC for its 27 hole lay-out, it offers wide landing areas for those mis-hits off the tee. One can still scramble and make par. What I didn't find to be likeable at the course are several things. First off, it's the cranky old man that works the Pro-shop, has no people skills what- so-ever. This guy should be a course marshal or something, where he doesn't have to interact with the public..much. Secondly, and more importantly. IT'S SUMMER TIME!!! THAT MEANS IT'S HOT!!! They give a courtesy bottle of water to start with, which is fine. But after 3 holes it's empty. No more water stations in sight. I guess we missed it on the front 9 (Black Robin) hardest 9 on the course..but the most rewarding. At the turn we spotted a re-filling station, and again after 3 holes no water until the 7th, by then we were drained of energy, and our level of fun and conversation had dropped way off. There is something to be said about the way some some courses are managed when instead of talking about how our golf game was going, we are complaining about, "How come there is not a water station after every 3 holes?" " Darn it's hot out here, I need water, I can't focus on my game!" " Oh, look!, The restroom house has water! Not a chance drinking from that!" Hello, Wescott managing staff, it's 90+ degrees out during the day, and this is June... PUT MORE WATER STATIONS ON THE COURSE!!! Or should you wait until someone passes out due to dehydration sickness. Sheesh!!
Great Course
Excellent course with (3) 9 hole layouts that play completely different. Black Robin is tough.
Great value overall
I really like having 3 - 9 hole courses. And the $50 all you can play rate is also a great pro for this course. Staff are super friendly and really make you feel welcome without being a member. The only con I have is after the first 18 if you want to play more expect it to be slow. I recommend going earlier in the AM to avoid the slowdown as there aren't rangers on the course to maintain pace/play.
decent course
I've played wescott numerous times and feel like it's a decent little course. Had a great time with my buddies and would recommend it to anyone.
Good spring golf
We had a foursome that all were looking to card their first round of 2015. Starting with the bag drop and heading into the pro shop, the staff couldn't have been nicer. We all showed up about an hour early and with the possibility of rain, we were basically given the green light to play any of the the three 9's whenever we were ready. Unfortunately both black robin and oak forest, our elected two nines, were both pretty soggy. That is, if you kept it in the short stuff it wasn't too wet. We definitely drove through standing water and even witnessed a cart get bogged down in the mud. Although, the greens did roll true and were even pretty quick for how moist they were. The tee boxes were well maintained and had 4 options of length. We saw the cart girl at least 3 times and adding the generosities at the turn felt welcomed and well taken care of. All-in-all we had a good time. I will definitely play Wescot again and I love the availability of 3 nines thus giving me multiple experiences whilst playing 18
Great Course...Too Many People
Great 27-hole course with beautiful scenery! Played this course before and enjoy playing it! However, the pace of play was not good on this day. The front nine took at least 3 hours because of the bunched-up scheduling of groups on the same 9-hole course. The back nine took 2.5 hours to complete.
Otherwise, the course is in great shape with the greens and fairways looking very good. Very challenging for beginners but fair to better players. Staff treated you with the ultimate respect. Overall a great place to play!
