About
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Challenged
For an executive course it was well laid out and in good shape both the fairways and greens. It was challenging course and really enjoyed. I would definitely play this course again.
Some poorly designed holes
On a couple of holes , if you go off the green by a foot, the ball will go into a hazard! I call that poor design.
Nice warm up executive course
It’s a short executive corse, 4000 from the back tees, but for our first game since October it was fine. The staff are very helpful, the inclusion of a beer in the fee was a nice surprise. The tees were not in great shape, greens are ok. The course is pretty, lots of wildlife. Nice layout.
A pleasant gem
We have been away from sometime, COVID etc.
What a pleasant surprise, the driving range is gone and a new number is a par 5. AT the same time 18 has been cleaned up no more cross overs to other holes. The good for nothing waste area in front to the green is gone making for a more attractive approach.
Outstanding
The greens I feel are some of the best in Venice. Fa better than sister course Highlands.
Could not give 5 stars as some of the tee boxes are rough.
Do not let the distance fool you. Every hole has a unique challenge and if you do not pay attention water will get you.
Scenery is awesome.
Before we go home we will back.
Worst day of golfd
I had a 2.03 TT and I was immediately held up as there were two foursomes in front of me and one of them were walking. I tried to play around them but that too was impossible as there were foursome's also back up. So I scrubbed my golf day and returned home. When I asked the group in front, they said their TT was also 2.03 so I imagine the Groves over booked..
Groves GC is in very good shape
Enjoyed the layout challanges of Groves GC. I recommend it highly.
Fun, great value, interesting challenges depending on your t box selection.
Very nice staff. Course in pretty good shape. Nice layout. I plan to play at least weekly late afternoon. With my grandson. The course is very supportive of junior golf as is the Meadows complex.
