Good for the price
Super simple par 3 course. Greens should be in better shape even though it's cheap. A couple of holes not intuitively mapped. Good course to practice your short game.
Nice 3par golf course
Beautiful par 3 17 hole golf course in the arroyo located in South Pasadena... Friendly staff.. better than average greens. No sand traps but challenging pin placements... No more than 2 hours to play. Very quiet and peaceful..Nice driving range too!!
Well maintained
Overall nice 3 par golf course. Greens were fast but in great condition.
Best shape ever
I have noticed that since this new group has taken over management of this course, course conditions seem to have improved. However, yesterday's round showcased a new high water mark. I have never seen the greens in such wonderful condition, and I had to leave a review to let people know. Now, one aspect of great greens is how well they are taken care of by the golfers, and this course is notorious for having lots of traffic by golfers who may be lacking in course etiquette when it comes to taking care of ball and spike marks. For whatever reason, the greens looked nearly championship caliber, and some of them rolled like it as well. There was a green or two that wasn't at that level- a couple where the aeration/sanding was still apparent, but mostly, the greens were magnificent. Please everyone, try to help keep them that way!
very interesting course
the layout for 18 holes par 3 is very interesting. It is a little gem for golfer who likes to walk. There are shades at every tee box and benches to sit while waiting. the course condition is very good.
Didn't finish
The course is nice and fun to play. Golf Now let me book 18 holes, when there was barely time to finish 9. I would like a refund. They own the tee times and should be more up front.
Solid Par 3
Well maintained par 3 that’s great for practicing your short game. It can get a little packed on the weekends and the slow play can be frustrating. That said, it’s excellent for late afternoon rounds and squeezing in practice mid week. It’s also good value and a great place for introducing your kids to the game. All in all, I’m thrilled Arroyo Seco is in my neighborhood.
Excellent Par 3 Course
This course is a FIND! Other reviews had me expecting it to be good, but it exceeded my expectations. Course was in GREAT shape. Granted, the tees are mats, not grass (not uncommon for par 3 courses), but the mats are good (soft hybrid turf, not hard astroturf). But the “fairways” are lush, as is the rest of the grass leading up to & surrounding the greens. Very little bare spots anywhere on the course. The greens themselves are in unusually good condition for a par 3 course — very few unrepaired ball marks, which was a pleasant surprise. They putted great, just as well as any public regulation golf course. Pace of play (8:30am start on a Friday) was fine on the front nine (little over an hour) but slower on the back (seemed like the guys in front of me left early or skipped ahead after the 11th hole, and two other dudes took their place somehow). This was about the only “negative” aspect of my experience (the restaurant appeared to be closed, as were the chipping and putting greens, but that’s standard during COVID, at least with the practice area). They also have a mini golf course and a driving range (both are open).
A fun relaxed game
We had a lot of fun, probably had to do with getting beers @ 9th hole. Crowded but everyone was cool about it. Not for the “serious” golfer. Course care is not great, sometimes the fairways are very close together. For the money it was worth it, next time I get the beer at the 1st hole.
