Value at a price
Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, one can't just walk onto this course the way we used to. You have to make advance reservations. That being said, this is still a fun short par three course that attracts all levels of golfer, including the very casual golfer. The benefits are that the course is inexpensive to play, and the new managers seem to be taking better care of it. The not so good news is that many golfers don't seem to understand basic golf etiquette, so greens are marked up and not repaired, pace can be very, very slow, and golf balls can come toward you at any time from almost anywhere. Currently, the course isn't lit at night, which meant that our 18 hole reservation had to be cut short at 14 holes, due to the slow play and lack of lighting. We will be back, of course, but we are hoping for a better experience and a full 18 next time.
Good Value But Slow Play
Need to practice your short game and have the time? This might be for you. This all par-3 course plays slow with mostly beginner golfers. You would think it would go faster with most holes averaging 100 yards and rarely than more than a 2-some but played 9 holes in just under 2.5 hours. Hard to get in the groove when you have wait each hole. Pick an odd time (ie: when it's hot!) and enjoy the low rate.

This Course Is Always in Good Condition
The maintenance staff at Arroyo Seco keeps the greens in excellent condition. It's a fun course to play because there are some subtle breaks. A majority of the greens have some slope as well. Birdies are fairly hard to make, even for a lower handicap player. I enjoy the course because it allows me to use 7 iron through sand wedge, and a premium is placed on accuracy and controlling the distance of your shots.
Short Par 3 course. Great for beginners or for anyone who wants to work on their short game. Course is well maintained.

Good course! I’m relatively new to golf, +20 handicap. But Aaroyo is definitely good to practice those 80-120 yard holes. Good weather in South Pasadena as well
