About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Florida Golf
Course was in great condition. The greens are finally starting to establish the grain being just over a year old from the renovation. Weather was very hot, but knew it would be that way.
Had a great. Everyone was very friendly to include helpful.
Bucket lists items checked off!
The pretty young lady who I had a Texas connection with. Was very pleasant and just started the day out right for us. Always nice to have a smiling cheerful person to get a round started. Got some drinks and the staff over there was just as accommodating. The four stars is only due the slow greens. But that is really the only down side to the course. From tee box to green you had a very nice surface to hit off of...unless you missed the fairway. That was not unfair either just a challenge as it should be. Talked to some locals and they stated the greens were shaggy and could have been mowed and rolled. Over all I checked off some bucket list items.

Greens going bad
Overall course is declining again. New greens two years ago that are on their way to being poor dying out in spots. What a shame to invest all the money to try and refurbish the course 2 years ago and due to lack of a decent greens keeper tossing all that money down the drain
Greens need some TLC
Overall, the course was satisfactory. The course could have been above satisfactory if the greens were in better shape. There were some greens that had brown patches or needed some TLC.
I was a bit surprised I did not see any marshal on the course to assist with the pace of play.
Decent course in need of a little TLC
My son and I played on a Monday. Course is a little patchy with some greens in rough shape. Overall a good layout with some challenging holes. Staff was very nice and accommodating. We got a good deal on the round and would play again.
Fun course to play
I had a fantastic time playing this course! The experience was overall enjoyable, even though the pace was a bit sluggish due to the players ahead of us. The greens had some interesting punch holes that added to the challenge. Despite that, I’m definitely looking forward to coming back for another round!
Great value for your money in Destin
We were very pleased with our round here. We paid a third of the price compared to the higher-end courses in the area. The staff and members were extremely helpful and nice. The course had a nice layout and was in good shape.
Fun course, rough greens
I played this course on a hot deal. It was worth exactly what I paid for it. The tee boxes were great, most fairways were in good shape. However every green had dead spots and made putting nearly impossible. I'm not the best putter, but 4 three putts from less than 15 feet because the ball hops or gets knocked off line is insane.
The staff was very pleasant, especially the cart girl Abby.
I drove over an hour and a half to play this course and would do it again for the price I paid.
