Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Needs lots of Improvement before Summer
I recently played at Shalimar, and unfortunately, the conditions were disappointing for this time of year. The fairways were thin and sandy, making good lies hard to come by. The greens were extremely fast, but not in a smooth or consistent way—there was barely any grass on them, which made putting more of a chore than an enjoyable challenge.
It’s understandable that conditions can fluctuate with the seasons, but it didn’t seem like much effort had been put into maintenance. Hopefully, things improve because the layout has potential, but right now, it’s just not in good shape.

Greens are so much better this year. Tough but playable course.
Challenging course
Had a great time playing this course.Quite hilly for the area,with some tight,unforgiving fairways and tough greens that were in great shape.
Fairways were brown do to time of year and recent massive winter snowstorm and it is a well laid out course..would play again..good value for price booked through GN/GP.
Great Value
Shalimar is a fun and challenging course. A good test for any golfer. The fairways are really tight lies this time of year and 17 & 18 are some of toughest holes around.
Horrible conditions
Course is in terrible shape. Rock hard fairways, many dirt patches, no grass.

The course is in horrible shape even for early February. Rick hard fairways and tee boxes. Many dirt patches in fairway. Not worth the price we paid
Challenge
I enjoy playing #17 and 18 because they can be challenging .
