About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Great value for your money in Destin
We were very pleased with our round here. We paid a third of the price compared to the higher-end courses in the area. The staff and members were extremely helpful and nice. The course had a nice layout and was in good shape.
Fun course, rough greens
I played this course on a hot deal. It was worth exactly what I paid for it. The tee boxes were great, most fairways were in good shape. However every green had dead spots and made putting nearly impossible. I'm not the best putter, but 4 three putts from less than 15 feet because the ball hops or gets knocked off line is insane.
The staff was very pleasant, especially the cart girl Abby.
I drove over an hour and a half to play this course and would do it again for the price I paid.

One of the best and most fun courses I’ve played, the staff was very helpful and kind and the course was even better. Definitely recommend!
Not for Me
The pace of the course was rushed... with a six pack ahead of us, the single behind us the single player was rude he did not following course pace of play protocol. There is not a course marshal to maintain the pace. Wild Wild West out there.
The greens were in terrible shape.
The tee box signage was outdated and inaccurate as to distance
The carts are worn and slow.
No amenities on the course
Great course
Friendliness, beautiful and affordable. Will recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy gorgeous greens in great community.
Getting hot in FL
The humidity is up in FL. The course was in good shape. Fairways were green and plush. The greens were filling in from the past winter. There were still a few bare spots but should grow in within a few weeks. They had a little bump in them and should smooth out soon. No weeds on the greens. All in all, they are coming back from the 7” of snow we had in January.
Best play for the money
As soon as you get there', then staff is trying to help you. The practice range, chipping and putting were all perfect. The course is well maintained and challenging. A must stop on your plans of in Destin, Florida..
Nice course, nicer staff!
Had a wonderful round today with a friend. The course was in good shape. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Food was good, golf shop items were top notch, drinks were great and the cart girl was timely. Overall a great experience we will repeat many times! Thanks!
Delightful Course Design
The greens were in rough condition, but you could play on them. I’ve played a few courses in this part of the country and I generally find the greens puzzling. I heard they were working to improve them. I found the course layout to be quite interesting. I thought the green complexes were unique in a good way. Most were protected by water on one side and were often built up with pylons. The ball responded predictably on approach and greenside shots. The fairways and rough were in reasonably good condition. I would play there again. I hope they can improve the green conditions.
Good for the money
The pace was a bit fast for us but we are not very good lol!! The greens could use some work.
Overall we enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend.
Good Value
had a nice round at Shalimar today. Have played there a dozen times over last 3-4 years. Couple of the greens were hurting but had a fun round at a reasonable price. Nice pace of play. Wish I could start on 10. Finishing on 17 and 18 are tough holes!!!
