Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Average Conditions
Fairways and tees in poor to average condition but found course difficult to manage because of conditions.Greens were in good condition. We got a great deal on Golf Now so feel we got value for money but would not hurry back at full green fee rate.
New Years Eve round
I played the course in September 2024 and enjoyed very much. With all dormant now, it looked like the painting of the greens were a coverup to the rough spots. There is quite a bit of weed in the greens. Very grainy. I would recommend this course maybe in the spring or later but not right now for a 50.00 price.
Worse Couse Condition I Played all Year
Really a bad experience. Little grass on Fairways, tee boxes uneven, greens ridiculous. I won't be playing here for the rest of this Snowbird season.
Nice course, slow pace of play.
Nice course for the price. Pace of play was slow for a Monday with every tee time booked.
A nice Dye course off the Destin Beach
Shalimar Pointe Golf Club offers a fun and challenging experience with a great layout that lives up to expectations for a course inspired by Dye design. The greens are in great condition, but very challenging with various undulations (5 star). The layout is both strategic and engaging, making it a memorable course to play.
However, the condition of the fairways and tee boxes were very poor. There is no defined cart path. Many fairways and roughs were difficult to play, which detracts from the overall experience (2.5 star). That said, the pricing seems to align with the current condition of the course, making it an affordable option for golfers looking for a fun round.
Despite the shortcomings in fairway and tee box maintenance, Shalimar Pointe remains a challenging course that offers plenty of enjoyment. It’s definitely worth a visit if you want to pay 1/2 of a resort green fee on Destin beach area, especially for those who appreciate a thoughtfully designed layout and quality greens.
A nice public Dye course at a half of resort course price

Perfect Winter Day
Perfect 63 degrees, sunny, with very light winds. You couldn't dream up a better scenario for golfing. With the cold front passing through on Thanksgiving, some of the low temps are in the mid 30's now. Which makes for very fast greens. They are still green and pretty smooth, but faster. Which I prefer. The course is in excellent shape overall.
Great course
Enjoyed outing as always. Staff were courteous and friendly. Course in great shape
Sat. Morning Round
Played Sat. Morning for a round. Have played the course several times before the renovation. The course is good and challenging. If you keep the ball in the fairway great chance to score. In the rough hang it up! The course will only get better with the proper management. Hopefully that will happen. Woth the money! Will pay again in the near future.
Lovely course that’s recovering from summer heat
Had a great round with great company.
Staff really nice and friendly.
Some lovely holes and a nice layout.
Very Nice Course
The course is in excellent condition. The fall weather and cooler temperatures have been enjoyable to play in. Greens and fairways are superb.
It would be amazing if golfers (4-somes who take over 5 hours to play a round of golf) if they had any remote courtesy to GET OUT OF THE WAY for faster and smaller group players. Do better Shalimar Pointe - this is 3 times in a row we've wrote about this so get a marshal out there who will get people moving faster or out of the way or just kick them off the course!!
Fairways comment you made is somewhat of a fantasy comment - fairways for grass not 2 years old is not very well and greens are far too fast for the average golfer the way the course sets some of those flags up.
