Springfield Golf Club

This course is always in great shape and pace of play is also good. This course allows you to hit every club in the bag and depending on where you place it shape shots in both directions.

Warm weather greens that you can hold and role true. Tee to green is in good shape and was surprisingly impressed with how great the greens looked and rolled. Be careful because down hill puts can get away from you.

Great course and it is in great shape as always. All staff members are very nice and do a geat job. Worth the money and the drive every time I play out there. Greens were in great shape, difficult but very fair. Will be playing Springfield again very soon!

Played on a Thursday at 1 ...we were paired with a 2 some that went out 10 minutes early without us and then ended up behind a 3 some the starter sent off before us . Play was fine until 8 when it started to get slow. on 11 we had 4 groups on the hole. We were relieved to see the starter show up thinking he was there to speed play...Nope he joined the 3 some in front of us ...slowing play more. on 13 a ranger came by, I pointed out the slow play and the starter issue ..blew both off and went on his way back towards 12. Finished Hole 17 & 18 with 4 groups on each hole. No point in having rangers if they refuse to speed play. 5 1/2 -6 hour round on a Thursday is ridiculous. Can't imagine what the weekend would be like. Positive point ... the course is in great shape, has a great layout and greens were fast and challenging.

Throughly enjoyed my day at Springfield golf club. The course was in excellent shape- fairway, bunkers and especially the greens. Three putts a plenty adjusting to the speed, but the rolls were true and the greens were a nice change compared to other courses in the area.

Layout was very hilly and you really need to be accurate with your irons. Next time playing here I will have better course knowledge and play a bit differently. I would recommend the course without hesitation.

Course in great condition, greens were tough and a little fast for my game.....but that's my problem!,

I have played this course over 25 times over the last 5 years. The Golfnow deal for the afternoon is a great deal and the greens are the best for a public course in the Charlotte area. They are running in the 10 range on the stimpmeter.

The clubhouse is basic with standard amenities. Driving range and putting green are above average but lacks a good chipping/bunker practice area.

The course is in great shape as well. Tough track. Stay focused

Springfield was in its typically beautiful shape when we played here on Aug. 27. The weather was perfect. The greens were lightning fast. Holes 7-8-9 were as challenging as ever. We were teamed up with a great single, named Scott, who was a joy to play with.

Only issue we had was on hole 13. There were a bunch of kids hanging around the water cooler. Didn't think much of them. Greeted them with a hello.

Two of the people in our group (not me) hit absolutely fantastic shots on the par 3, both of them really legitimate birdie chances.

From the time we got to our carts and drove to the green -- the green is out of sight for a few moments because of trees -- someone stole the golf balls from the green. There were two kids standing in the woods to the right of the green and they all denied taking them. Saw a bunch of bicycles in the woods, too.

We were later told this has happened before and that police and the homeowners association had been notified.

Kids will be kids but that ruined an otherwise enjoyable experience. And wouldn't you know it, the two balls that were hit really close to the green were fresh out of their sleeves.

I still recommend Springfield, but beware the ball thieves.

We were pleasantly surprised at how well-maintained and aesthetically appealing the course was. It features lots of elevation changes, surrounding tall brush, and a challenging but not overbearing length for golfers of any skill level. The greens were exceptional considering the time of year we played and rolled out much quicker than one would expect while still maintaining some softness for incoming approaches. Rough length was appropriate while fairways were lush, but slightly overgrown. The price we paid felt like a robbery for 18 holes with a cart at a course of this quality. Granted we played on a weekday early afternoon, but we literally did not have a single group ahead of us and never waited for a single shot as a twosome. Can't wait to come back out.

Been playing here since 2001. Course is in the best shape I've ever seen. Greens are rolling fast and true fairways are perfect and the rough around the greens are us open like. Played TPC Piper Glen a few weeks ago and this course had better greens. Want a challenge give this course a try. Not a driver wedge course.

Played from the tips and the course will have you using all your clubs. Given the extreme heat we have had, the greens have held up nicely.
