The tee boxes are as long as rough and greens are in terrible condition.

Played Springfield in the rain today. The course sits in a housing development, but very few if any of the houses actually sit on the course. The course was very wet after almost a week's worth of rain. The teeboxes and fairways were all in great shape. The same can be said for the bunkers. Some bunkers were wetter than others, but they all had plenty of sand in them, and were well maintained. The greens were for the most part good. There were some parts of a few greens that did have bare spots. These were most notable on greens that were in areas surrounded by trees. The green speeds were quite fast, despite all of the water they had taken over the last few days. The course itself generally provides ample room off the tee. There are a few dogleg holes or holes where a layup off the tee is required. The real defense of the course are its greens. The greens are generally perched up and well guarded either by deep bunkers or mounds. Approach shots have to be accurate in order to have a chance at par. This is one of the better public courses in the Charlotte area. I would recommend it to anyone.

Would play again. Great value for $31.

Keep this a secret. I love this course. I'm an average at best golfer but I always enjoy playing this course. It might be a little harder than I need but it makes me concentrate more on my game when playing there. -- PS This is the first review I've written on a golf course Hope this helps.

Challenging yet a ton of fun to play. First time ever to play this course with my son and we can't wait to come back again. Very hilly and requires some target golf but it was a blast. Highly recommend this course if you want to get away from the standard everyday municipal golf course routine.

I would rate this one of the top courses in the Charlotte area--beautiful course with challenging hilly layout. I was disappointed because the course was cart-path only the day we played and it hadn't rained in over 4 days--i.e., they must have some drainage issues. Otherwise, the course was in great shape for this time of year: fast greens, healthy fairways and nice layout.

Played Springfield on a Sunday, pace of pace was great and considering the the rain in the last couple of days the course was in really good condition. The course have a lot of challenging holes where you really have to play for position for the second shoot. I highly recommend this course for someone that is looking for a challenge but make sure you have some extra balls for those challenging holes.

Used golfnow for my teetime with such a great rate couldn't refuse. My neighbor and I were paired up with two other players who played very slow. We teed off behind a foursome and after the second hole we never saw them again. Ranger was all over the course to keep movement going.

Nice course that I never thought I would play do to the normal prices (I'm a cheap person) but now that you can get deal times I'll play there for sure. Being Dec the fairways have turned brown but because of great course management in the warm seasons they play great. Greens are fastest I've played on in this area in 4 years. Staff was some of the best I've ever dealt with pure professionals in dealing with the public. If you have the chance play here you'll enjoy it for sure.

Hope they still offer the great rates in the spring.

I had not played Springfield for a while and I was very pleased with all the improvements to the facilities. Course was definitely built for the advanced golfer. Approach shots require precision. 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th are target golf holes - period. Better bring your "A" game or else. The new greens they put in several years ago are in tremendous shape. If you ready for a challenge and you can get a good rate on Golf Now, you need to give this track a go.

I leave near Springfield and like the facility. I didn't know they had Bermuda fairways though. It's kind of disappointing looking down the hole at all that brown. I think for the price they get for a round, they should have green/ bent grass fairways. Other than that, its a good track.

I am a local and have played every public track in the area. By far my favorite local course. You get what you pay for - the rack rate is higher than average, but the condition and service are worth it. Plus the rate seems to weed out the slow players and blissfully ignorant beginners (bless their hearts.) Bermuda greens are 5+ years old, which are now fully settled and receptive to good shots. They putt true, not overly fast (usually) except for dormant winter season when they get slick. No overseeding of fairways in winter, which is typical for Charlotte public tracks. A great mix of tough and fair holes, short and long 3's and 5's. Holes 7, 8, and 9 are the toughest consecutive in Charlotte (besides the Green Mile at Quail Hollow as the stats show, I wouldn't know personally.) Usually easy to find errant tee shots in the woods. A few forced carries, but an equal number of run-up greens. Pin placements and teeing ground options create a great variety to suit all skill levels. Highly recommended for the experienced player, but not for the beginner or short/low-ball hitter.

The course is in good condition and somewhat challenging. Yet it is over priced compared to others in the area. Especially the senior rate.

The fairways were mowed very well!!
Tees mowed very well also!! No scalp marks what so ever!
Greens looked very smooth and don't think they roll them everyday! some bumps when putting!
Overall its a great course!! played it many many times!

Good course and great value especially during the week and if you are a senior. Lots of elevation changes and both short and long par 4's. It's a course we enjoy every time we visit the area.

Challenging rolling hills course necessitating hitting from various lies. Good pace of play. Be ready for some large, undulating fast greens that roll true.
