About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business.
The Hooch Golf Club sits along the Chattahoochee River in Duluth, sprawling across a scenic landscape covered with ponds and lakes. The course is an executive, par-61 layout that combines traditional features with modern challenges. Although there aren't any par 5s on the golf course there are a few holes that stretch to over 400 yards, which guarantees that you'll be using all the clubs in your bag. There is plenty of water throughout the golf course, including three holes that play right along the river. It might not be what you're looking for if you want something truly formidable, but for a short course it's a good challenge that provides excellent iron practice. Besides the golf course, The Hooch is also known for its 12-acre, lighted driving range. There are also putting and chipping greens with a deep-faced practice bunker.

Best shape this year
Great place to work on your short game. Take extra balls . . . for the water hazards!
Great to play weekly
New manager is doing definite improvements to the grounds, etc. Needs to be more customer service oriented, lacks people skills. Younger staff and Marshall's are great. Great little place to play, greens usually play nice, good speed and break, bunkers definitely need a serious overhaul and some of the tee boxes also. Couple of holes tee box was so hard broke my tee trying to put into ground. Course could do with some shut down time to reseed fairways, tee boxes and redo the bunkers. It definitely has the potential to be a great club with the right personnel running it. But not yet, $30 for the weekend here is a little steep until they improve the grounds.
Short, funky and made me play out of sorts.
Short course with on par 3's and 4's which was set up funky. Greens were not great. Would not do this again.
Great Short Game Course!
When I first read the details about this course and compared the price to play I was a little hesitant. The first time I played it I was pleasantly surprised it was "better than I thought". I now play this course every time I catch a golf now special price because it's close to home and a great course to work on your short game.
Good tune up course
Good tune up course. Some difficult 3 pars. Staff should monitor the players, no five to a group. Slow play sometimes.
good greens.
Value for the price
As for the golf course..
Terrain is not that challenging. Some par-4s and par-3s NO par-5s. If you still playing the par-3 Peachtree golf center in Duluth - this is a upgrade. If you have palyed Hampton village Cumming before you will find the course easier and half as hard
As for the cost...
For the price and convenience of location it a great buy.
Alternatively If you willing to travel 20 miles from this course you will find better courses around.
If you are like me - just play golf with the time and money you have for the week - this is it. Got a little bit of important to enjoy golf
Great place for beginners
Friendly staff. Mostly par 3's. it's a great place to take beginners.
Nice Executive course
Par 3's and 4's. Let's you pull out the driver (some wide fairways). Greens in pretty good shape.
