About
The 18-hole Deer Brook Golf Club in Shelby, North Carolina is a public golf course that opened in 1999. Designed by Brian Lussier and Rick Robbins, Deer Brook Golf Club features four sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are bermuda. Deer Brook is located in the rolling piedmont of Shelby, North Carolina in the southwestern portion of the state, nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Shelby is the gateway between Asheville and Charlotte and centered between two of the largest metropolitan areas of the Carolinas: Charlotte and Greenville/Spartanburg.

great course, well maintained, very challenging
Great value when you book thru Golf Now. Fun to play and challenging for middle handicap golfers.
Stay below the hole!
Played Sunday Oct. 21st at 1 PM after finding last minute tee time on Golfnow for 2 players. Great value for this unemployed first time user of site. One would think this would easily take 5 to 6 hours to complete but pace of play was great, finished in 4 1/2. Course is in great shape with premium on accuracy as the second cut of rough is super deep. Must keep ball in fairway ! Greens are rolling nice (folks should learn to fix ball marks) and super fast from anywhere above the hole. Be sure to get flag position for the day. All greens have some severe slope and undulation, important to be on correct level.
Overall great value, we will certainly be back soon.
