well worth it
As usual the course was in great shape, even though it rained on us some didn't affect playability of course, friendly staff and one of the best buffets afterwards
Solid Track
This course had rave reviews so we made the trip from uptown Charlotte which was about 50 minutes. The course was in very good condition, most notably the fairways and tee boxes. The front nine greens were a bit chewed up from ball marks but the back was a little better. Aside from the ball marks on the greens, this course was excellent.
Hidden Gem
Great course, if it was in Charlotte it would cost $65. It was worth the ride.
Hidden gem in Shelby, NC
Have played this course a couple times and enjoyed it immensely! The guy at the front desk was the only downer. He was a little perturbed because I booked online for early in the morning and he didn't have anyone on the tee sheet when they closed the night before.
Great layout
Great course and value!!!' Great conditions!!!!! A couple greens are a little insane!!!
Fun course
Greens and fairways are in excellent shape. Holes are pretty much straight except for 16 and 17th. They were my favorite.
Hidden Gem!
First time playing Deer Brook, and wow, what a nice track! From tee box to fairway to greens, this course is in remarkable shape. We played from the middle tees(white) and at 6400+ yards it can stretch a shorter hitter.
My golf buddies and I will certainly return for more rounds there!
Great Time
Course has excellent layout. Not too hard, not too easy, with a great mix of holes. Course let my junior play for cart fee which is GREAT CUSTOMER RELATIONS plus is looking to the future getting children involved in the game. Kudos to this course and staff and will return many times even with the 45 minute drive. Sure my son and his golf buddies will too when they grow up. Again thanks!
first time visit
This was worth the 40 minute drive. The course was in really solid shape. The green complex's were amazing. Pin placements were tough for a weekday. I loved the course layout. Fairways were getting full but I did not have a bad lie all day. There were some spots around the fringe on some greens but they were looking like they were being attended to. The value was the best I have gotten so far in the area. Facilities are first class. Make a point of getting there to play, you won't be disappointed.
The greens are excellent
Deer Brook is an excellent course. the green fee is reasonable and the staff strives to give good customer service.
best course around
the greens were true. the fairways and tee boxes excellent, One of the best courses in the area. will play again. they are a bit pricey but you can find a good deal on golfnow.
Best Around
This is the best golf course around. Prices are relatively low. $30 during the week and $40 on weekends. Discounts given later in the day. Greens are always in good shape and roll fast. DO NOT EVER MISS ABOVE THE PIN. Generally, there is alot of room of the tee. Not always in the fairway but plenty of rough to land in. You can almost always find your ball off the tee. You may not be in good shape but you can find it. Alot of trouble and bunkers around the greens. Greens are very undulating and tough. Course is in good shape most of the warm weather months. There are a few forced carries especially on the par 3s, but usually these carries are closer to the tee than to the green so you should be able to carry it. All in all a great place to play and a good value but because of that can be tough to get a tee time, it stays busy.
beautiful
course was in beautiful condition. pace of play was good. overall a great experience.
This is a excellent golf course
The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly
Surprisingly nice!
Except for playing behind a church "scramble" tournament, this was a pleasure to play. Well-maintained with excellent greens. Good layout!
course always in excellant condition
got $16 tee times thru golf now. not a better deal anywhere aroumd. it takes me 58 minutes to get there so it has to be a good course and deal.
Very nice course
This course was challenging because no matter where you hit the ball it seemed unlikely to find a flat surface. The fairways had lots of planned undulation, but for the most part seemed to funnel to the middle. It was very crowded the day we played, but everyone seemed to keep pace and be understanding if you had to take a second to look for a ball. We played this as part of a Golf weekend marathon where we tried as many new courses as possible. We payed $35 each which seems like a great deal, but until i can hit my drive a little straighter i will not be going back.
This is a nice course that gives a good challenge
I have played this course many times and though i have never shot a great round here, it was never because the course wasn't maintained. I love the green speeds. If you are a 10-15 handicap i think you should give this course a try. You don't have to curve the ball much, but for some reason the course always wins.
Course is well maintained and the greens roll true.
The course played great. Every turn was clearly marked except where is #10 tee. There was some cart path damage but that didn't take away from the way the course played. We wound up in the middle of a tournament that we were unaware of till we arrived at the course. This slowed the pace of play and the twosome behind us was very impatient. Clubhouse staff seemed distant. Maybe the tournament caused this. Would give it another try when no tournament was being played.
Really good condition. Greens are always good.
Nice layout. Space off the tee for most holes. Course always seems to be in good shape. A hidden jewel.
