beautiful
course was in beautiful condition. pace of play was good. overall a great experience.
This is a excellent golf course
The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly
Surprisingly nice!
Except for playing behind a church "scramble" tournament, this was a pleasure to play. Well-maintained with excellent greens. Good layout!
course always in excellant condition
got $16 tee times thru golf now. not a better deal anywhere aroumd. it takes me 58 minutes to get there so it has to be a good course and deal.
Very nice course
This course was challenging because no matter where you hit the ball it seemed unlikely to find a flat surface. The fairways had lots of planned undulation, but for the most part seemed to funnel to the middle. It was very crowded the day we played, but everyone seemed to keep pace and be understanding if you had to take a second to look for a ball. We played this as part of a Golf weekend marathon where we tried as many new courses as possible. We payed $35 each which seems like a great deal, but until i can hit my drive a little straighter i will not be going back.
This is a nice course that gives a good challenge
I have played this course many times and though i have never shot a great round here, it was never because the course wasn't maintained. I love the green speeds. If you are a 10-15 handicap i think you should give this course a try. You don't have to curve the ball much, but for some reason the course always wins.
Course is well maintained and the greens roll true.
The course played great. Every turn was clearly marked except where is #10 tee. There was some cart path damage but that didn't take away from the way the course played. We wound up in the middle of a tournament that we were unaware of till we arrived at the course. This slowed the pace of play and the twosome behind us was very impatient. Clubhouse staff seemed distant. Maybe the tournament caused this. Would give it another try when no tournament was being played.
Really good condition. Greens are always good.
Nice layout. Space off the tee for most holes. Course always seems to be in good shape. A hidden jewel.
Hidden gem
Out in the woods of Shelby, NC there you'll find deer brook golf course. Fairways were perfect, greens were quick and responsive. Bunkers where decent not the best but definitely not the worse. You can rip it everywhere for most of the course. A few tight tee shots. Had my first eagle on #8 par 5 pitch in 3. Good but if you are in that area or just want to play some place different.
Bring your best putter!
The course is in good shape. Challenging from the tee to final putt. Not extremely difficult but challenging. Pin placement can add strokes to your score if not careful.
Bring your A game!
The greens were slick, lots of ondulation. Stay under the hole if not you will feel like you're at Augusta. Tough course , very challenging , felt like all the pins were Sunday pins. Can't wait to go back.
Interesting layout. Decent conditions.
Course is great, fun course to play. The rough is friendly enough that players do not spend a great deal of time searching for an errant shot. Very enjoyable.
no discount for using GolfNow.
myself and a friend were excited to play this course until we arrived and found that the greens had been punched and topdressed. we felt that the course should have had a lower rate due to the condition of the greens. the rate posted at the check-in was the same as we recieved on GolfNow.
Course has a nice layout and is challenging.
Check in man did not have a cordial personality. He was critical of golf now for no apparent reason. Hardly anyone was playing this date and he should have welcomed business. He stated golf path only restriction on this date and I think he expected my negative response. I said that is fine. The greens had quite a bit of sand on them and the traps needed sand replacement. Otherwise, the course is fine and the clubhouse is impressive.
A long, slow, slog. But a real deal.
Deer Brook looks like it was scraped out of a cow pasture, or maybe cotton fields. It's one of those typical courses included as part of a high-end subdivision. Not much in the way of wooded areas or views. Though, to be fair, this was late January so most everything was brown or bare.
The greens were green, though, and had been rolled that morning. A few patches here and there, but not enough to complain about.
The bunkers were unraked and had dry mud in them after recent rain and many were in need of repair. Fairways had plenty of divots. But that's more due to stupid golfers than lack of maintenance
Other reviews mention the length. I played the black tees (only 5800 yards) and struggled. The 4's play like 5's. But then the 3's are all around 125 yards. Weird. The upside is the course is mostly wide open so there weren't too many lost balls. There are only a couple of spots where control is demanded.
This was MLK day so even if my foursome played faster there was nowhere to go.
I drove an hour from Charlotte to get there. Might try again in warmer weather with another golfnow deal.
Great
We got off around 9:15 and the course played great. It was rather cold as you could imagine but after the greens thawed they were in excellent shape! I will definitely go back!
High end course for affordable price
We got great deal on Golf Now for $18.00 green fees. Course was worth twice that. We especially liked the cushiony grass around the greens which was ideal for chipping. Friendly staff. High class facilities. The only downside was poor signage for hole 10. It took us a lot of driving cart around to find it. Otherwise, great experience, we would go back.
The experience was wonderful
Course was in great shape and staff was very helpful and friendly. We had lunch in the restaurant which was excellent also.
Love this course
Great course for the money! If this course were in a larger city, it would cost double what it does. Worth the drive.
Phenomenal day of golf
Greens were rolling fast! Course is well manicured and will challenge you from the tips! Bermuda rough was thick and you are definitely rewarded for keeping it in the fairway! Great course for the money!
