Great value
Except for slow greens the course was in great shape. Very beautiful course.
Sunday buffet is to die for!!
Nice!
What a nice course. I had a buddy recommend this course and we were not disappointed. New clubhouse. Huge driving range. Course was in great shape. I didn't love the layout as a lot of it was pretty straightforward and I like courses that make you move the ball. We played the tips and it was longer than most courses. Looking to play again in the next couple of weeks and its a little over an hour drive for us. Highly recommend.
Best conditioned course in WNC
Emaculate conditioned course in every way. Fairways and tee boxes were perfect. Greens very fast but true. Beware of pin position #3, as extremely challenging and resulted in several 3 putts in our group. Overall a great conditioned course and best value in Western North Carlina. Highly recommended.
Best in the Charlotte area
This is the best Public course and the greens were very fast. The landscaping was awesome and the layout was great and challenging.
great golf
this was a very nice golf course it was well manicured enjoyed playing it
Sunday outing
Booked this for a group.Had to reserve with cc.Good course conditions and layout and we had a good time.A number in my group wanted to go back out there again before the season ends even though it's just over an hours drive for most of us.It was very busy both on and off the course on the day as there was a county championship and a Sunday brunch(which looked awesome but didn't try ).One of my group was a member who said he would buy me a beer if I didn't like it more than Verdict Ridge, jury is out on that one not sure you can really compare two really different courses.
I would definitely include this on our groups calendar next year.
Nice course
The staff was friendly, the course was in excellent condition, although some of the rough was so deep that it was quite difficult to find your ball (even more reason to keep your ball in the fairway).
Not the nicest course we have played, but a very good course and a good value. We would recommend this course to anyone that wants to go out and have a good time.
Testy greens...
Deerbrook is always in good shape. Wide open fairways for the bombers off the tees. Only two problems that hamper this course. No par 5 is reachable in two from the amateur tees and the greens are always slick and very undulating. Sometimes pace of play can be irritating, but that is hit and miss. Great course all year round other than those two issues. But give it a try, and decide for yourself.
Great course
I like 45 miles away and make the drive because of the course. Not many courses am I willing to do this for. Fairways were great and each hole has its on challenge. Greens contained a lot of ball marks and appears very few players repairs their divots. Otherwise the greens were in great shape.
Really like this course!!
I have played Deer Brook several times. It always seems to be in really good shape. It is challenging , but fair and offers the moderate handicap player a chance to make a birdie or two. When I played the back tees in the past it was all the golf course I wanted. But, these days I play from the white tees and it still gives me a stern test. Always great to play Deer Brook.
Nice course
We had a good time playing this course. Fairways were I. Good conditions and the greens were smooth and rolled true.
Private club quality at a muni price
The overall feel of the course was much more like a high-end course than a small country course. The range felt like we were hitting off of fairway lies (no sand-filled divots to hit around!) and was in immaculate shape. Greens all ran quick enough, but not so fast that downhill putts fly away from you. We were never in bunkers, so that wasn't really an issue.
The greenside rough plays thick and is grabby, as it should be, and the fairways were all well-maintained. There were only maybe three or four rough patches on the course - one on I think #11's green on a severe slope comes to mind. However, compared to any course in the Charlotte area, you could easily pay twice the price in the metropolitan area and not be on as good of a course as Deer Brook. It plays on the harder side from the tips, with only one or two par 4's under 400, but the greens are well bunkered, requiring more strategy when hitting into greens. The par 3 course next door is a fun way to burn time and avoid traffic as well - albeit with slower greens. Their yardages were frequently 10-20 yards off, so if you know your yardages I'd bring a scope to be safe. Mostly from 80-120 yards.
Great conditions
A friend & I played on Saturday morning and the course was in fantastic shape. The fairways were great; very green with good thick grass. The greens were likewise in superb shape, Very quick, but smooth & consistent from hole to hole. You can tell the course gets lots of play from number of ball marks on the greens but at these rates and conditions it's to be expected. The best value & conditions anywhere near Charlotte.
exceptional lay out, well manicure greens
As always enjoyed playing deerbrook, thumbs up to them for keeping this course always looking top notch, it's worth the drive from charlotte, I'll recommend playing this course, it's a must!
Don't pass it by
**Facilities were very nice.
**Driving range was excellent.
**Fairways were in great shape
**Tee boxes were in great shape
**Bunkers were nice and consistent.
**Greens were nice for the most part. They were shot and held shots nicely. A number of them were in great shape but there are a ton of unrepaired ball marks on the green causing some bumpy puts. REPAIR YOUR FREAKING BALL MARKS!!!! A couple greens had burned sections but overall they greens were nice.
FYI - the putting green near the driving range is much faster than actual greens. Putting green by club house is much more true to actual course speed.
** Carts are very nice
** Layout is fun. You use a lot of different clubs. Some holes on the back get a little tight. The course is mapped out well and marked well.
** Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Overall this is a very nice course and at an excellent price. I would recommend the course to everyone. It's not terribly challenging but makes for a fun and enjoyable day.
Belmont golfer
Course in superb shape. Rain has been scarce lately and this place still looks awesome.
This course is a hidden gem!!!!!
This course has everything a golfer desires: outstanding conditions tee through green; moderately hilly terrain; wide variety of hole designs; undulating greens; excellently maintained bunkers; beautiful scenery; and friendly staff.
Top notch
Greens were great. Fairways were the best I played in NC (played 5 courses). Tee boxes were good. Great character to the course. I would love to play it again some time.
This course has a wonderful layout
Wow! What a great golf course! The fairways and greens were in great shape, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. A must play for the area.
Good Day on A Hard Course
Deerbrook is an excellent golf course. A lot of holes are tough, but it does have some birdie holes out there too. Always in great shape, with very tricky greens. A must play, if you have never played this course before.
