Course is currently in great shape. Greens rolling true. Todd and staff are all top notch and best around.
Carolina Lakes
Need to add some beverage carts for bringing beverages around to the fellas while we play.
Value
Green fees are a bit high, however one of the best public courses in the area.
Staff told me after I paid that single players aren’t allowed on Sunday
The course and its conditions are great!
The staff were extremely rude and pushy. I arrived 20+ minutes before my tee time and checked in. I was immediately told that I would be going out in 5 minutes with a group. As a single, I know that I can be paired with others but this was presented terribly to me. I even asked the pro shop if they knew what time it was currently, they told me yes and that I had time.
I hurriedly got my things on a cart, got over to the starter, who yelled at me for holding things up, told me that they don’t allow singles on Sunday, and that I needed to unpack my cart and hop into another person’s before my newly assigned tee time was past.
The golfers they were trying to pair me with were visibly upset over something that was obviously not any of our fault. I asked him to let them go and stated that I was upset, which he told me was my fault for booking a single tee time on a Sunday.
Thankfully, another group was going out 20 minutes later and asked me if I would like to play with them. The round was enjoyable but the staff interactions were awful. I now know that Carolina Lakes doesn’t welcome single players on Sunday and I will schedule accordingly in the future.
Excellent
Beautiful layout of each hole…greens excellent along with rest of course. Incredible views!!
Nice Course - surprising surcharges
Very nice course- Strange no cart amenities rolling through on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Very Strange the additional rider fee ( young son came to watch me play) - Not prefaced on the website or Golf Now app.
Additional Cart fees apply when you check in $12.00) - so you're prepared.
Augusta Like
We felt like we playing Augusta. From the tees the fairways were undulating and lined with white candy bunkers. Green were perfect condition with different elevations. It's a gem.
Enjoyable course
We enjoyed playing the course. The greens were fast and in good shape. A little slow at times as there was lots of groups of two. Glad to see the beer cart out on the course. The golf carts were excellent. Would have liked GPS or a card with outline of the different holes. Friendly helpful staff. We rented clubs, they were just okay not cleaned and fairly expensive. Overall enjoyed the course
$100? Really?
This course is set up for shorter hitters who enjoy well-placed shots. Sand everywhere. But don’t get me wrong. While it sucked we had cart path only, there’s nothing wrong with the course itself. It’s just not what I prefer. The part that was ridiculous was the price for what you get. For $99 on a weekend, I did not expect gas carts from the 90’s and almost no food/beverage options on a Sunday morning. It’s not a bad course. It’s just not very fun. And when you get little other benefit of any kind, $99 is way too much to pay.
