Devlin and VonHagge designed this course, which challenges even experienced golfers. It has been rated by Golf Digest to be among the 50 top courses in the United States. The signature hole on the Championship Course is #12, a 452-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot through a cypress forest to an island green.
This 7,258 yards, par 71 course has narrow fairways, a deep rough as well as plenty of water and bunkers. Enjoy the fast greens and the excitement of knowing you're on one of the best.

Course was in great shape.
Found the course to be in great shape. The fairways were well defined and firmness was just righty.
The greens were will trimmed and rolling smooth and moderately fast.
I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The only draw back I experienced was the lack of coffee or refreshment access. My tee was at 8:30 and would have enjoyed having a cup of coffee before starting and perhaps a snack at the turn.
What is Happening to the Fairways Here?
The greens are in good shape, but the fairways get worse every time I play. There seems to be more dirt than grass on several of them. I am not sure if they plan to do anything about it, but they should shut down for a while and try to grow some grass before season gets here. The amount they are charging for these course conditions is too high.

If you want greens that roll true. This is a good value for your money.

Nothing like the Glades course. Only 4par three holes. Challenging.

2nd time here. Course very well kept. And enjoy the layout of entire course very much. Staff has been great both times.
One challenging course!
This course is one the most challenging courses in south Florida! The layout is great and there is always a hazard lurking in every hole. The conditions are great overall. With good tee boxes and excellent greens. I truly enjoy playing there. I can play by myself a round under 2 hours and they are super relaxed with single players!
The greens are great!
We enjoyed a really nice round at Colony West, We had played there a few times when the rain storms were around and it was nice to see how well the course held out. We all thought the greens were rolling nice-of course to many un-repaired pitch marks- but still a nice even surface with little or no bad spots or evasive grass. They do a really nice job from the clubhouse to the cart area, to the nice bar and restaurant.

greens in good shape, fairways little patchy in spots, but 80% of it clean. staff was great we will be back next weekend!
