Tee shot on #8 par 3 Photo submitted by tmlo on 05/05/2013
Starter
To say that I never seen more confused starter is to say nothing. He had no idea to what he was doing but acting like the most important person at the course. There were people ready to go but “he was not”.Told us to hold on receipt .Then was surprised that was 2 groups for 2:12, until we told him that we plying the Champ course and the others- the other course. He finally figured out who is in our group but was no carts available (!). We got our cart at 2:18 when other people finished and returned it.
Ok, this is all on negative part:)
Course in the good shape to compare to many others in S FL. Go play.
Best course I've played in Fort Lauderdale area so far
I've played a few courses in the area and they were a mixed bag.
The main things that impressed me:
1. New club house
2. Amazing, brand new TaylorMade rental clubs with free balls
3. New comfy, electric golf carts
4. Fairways and greens were lush
5. Lots of water
6. I play from white tees, but my partner plays from red. I was really impressed how many of the tee boxes weren't just closer, but different from different angles to the tee making the holes interesting from different tee boxes.
We will be playing this course again. If you are in town without your clubs, I'd highly recommend.
Horrible!!
Had not played here in over a year and now I remember why. This course is in terrible shape. The greens are decent but everything else is trash!! Tee boxes, fairways and around the greens have very like grass, like playing on concrete! It’s a shame because layout is nice but they needs to hire someone that knows how to grow and take care of grass!! Won’t play here again until I forget how bad it is. Only good thing here is the gorgeous cart girl, she can do so much better than this course, lol.
The Starter Blew it
The starter at this course needs to get some common sense. Arrived for my tee time a half hour early. ten minutes prior to going out at 1251, the starter tells me you will have to wait until I get another person to go out with you. I said, the other two are here and I am here, what's the issue? I need to send you out as a foursome. To heel you do, I said, I am here. The starter said then you need a manager. I finally found a manger and he said what's the issue, the fourth is not here yet. The manager instructed the starter to let me go out with the other twosome.
Lots of great improvements
I must say that I have been playing this course for years. It is in the best shape that I have seen in a while and i really enjoyed it. The tee boxes had grass and were flat. The fairways were good and the greens rolled really nicely. After the round, we stopped in the restaurant and the chef and staff were great. The food was really good and the price was reasonable. Just had a great day. I will definitley be back.
