Tee shot on #8 par 3 Photo submitted by tmlo on 05/05/2013
Could be a lot better!
We played 18 holes and never saw a cart girl (on a Sunday!) then tried the bar at the turn and there was no one there to get anything! Terrible! It’s just a matter of time and the Glades Course will be home sites and if the city doesn’t get serious about keeping the Champ Course in better shape, it is also doomed. Please don’t let it go! It’s still the best layout around but it could be so much better. Wake up Tamarac City Commissioners. Takes money to make money. Fix it or sell it.
Carts don’t work
After the first hole the cart ran out of battery. Called the staff and it took 30 minutes to switch the cart out and they were not very friendly.
Bad course condition
The condition of the course was horrible. They were working on it but in my opinion they shouldn’t accept players till the fairway is fixed.
Needs a little work.
The course overall was in good shape. The greens were slow. The rough around the greens needs some work. Chipping was difficult, patchy rough. I would play here again, but I would like to see them do a little more work on the course .
Greens were aryfied but not bad, fairways are nice and flush most of the holes.
Just okay
I paid the hot deal price through golf now, so the price was excellent. The rental club was a Cleveland, and it was very good. The clubhouse and the staff were friendly and helpful. The course itself was average. There were plenty of bare areas in the fairway. There were plenty of crab grass. The greens were recently aerated, but I think they would potentially be decent. Bunkers were reasonably maintained. I fixed a lot of ball marks on the green, which indicates to me what kind of clientele play the course.
Awful
**GREENS ARE PUNCHED/SANDED AS OF 5/7/23. Course staff did not mention this until we made it out onto the first hole. Group paid $60 a person to play on a cow pasture that ended up on a grain of sand. One of the holes even had a dead rat carcass right on the green. We didn’t see a ranger all day to help with the pace of play on the holes, however, we did see two of the staff in a golf cart collecting straight balls to resell. It’s obvious this course is only worried about making as much money as possible, and not so much about the golfing experience. Will never play here again.
