Tee shot on #8 par 3 Photo submitted by tmlo on 05/05/2013
Places not to play
The greens had weeds, fairways were ok, rough was non existent. If you are used to Private course conditions, not the place for you
Starter slowed us down
Starter sends us to the putting green and tells us to wait for a thumbs up to get started, 20 mins after our tee time i go walk over to the guy and ask him if we are ready to go. He goes “oh is everyone ready” our tee time was 20 mins ago he completely forgot about us and left us hanging while 2 groups of 4 with later tee times went ahead of us. Paid $55 to play 9 holes of golf. Overall course is enjoyable pace of play was awful. Restaurant staff was solid.
Great
The starter sent us out ten minutes early which was rare
The pace was under 4 hours
Called lunch into the view at the seventh hole and picked it up at the turn. In and out in seconds
Greens were good, rest of course conditions could improve
Afternoon round, couldn't beat it for the price. Good layout, course not in great condition, but greens were good.
Solid track, but needs improvement
This is a tricky layout at times, which is fine, but missing the greens here carries an extra punishment. The areas on the left and right sides of the greens are missing grass, and getting any kind of a fair lie there is next to impossible. Also, like so many other courses for some reason, tee box maintenance needs major work done. The greens were mostly solid as were the fairways.
Tough but fun
The course is very challenging with greens that have a lot of nuanced breaks, water and traps forcing smart course management but even with all of that it is a very enjoyable course to play even for an average golfer
The course is in very good shape
The course is in very good shape considering the amount of play it gets. There just is not enough golf courses down around here in Fort Lauderdale for the amount of golfers that are out there.
Needs work
Big change from last year. Bare fairways, poor bunkers, and overcrowded. I was there on a special so I can’t complain about the cost but I would never pay $69 to play here.
Great layout but terrible condition
Champ course has a nice layout, but the conditions fell way below our expectations. Practice area and 1st tee box gives the impression that the course is well-kept, but it didn’t take long before that perception changed. One guy warned me that it was a goat track, and he wasn’t wrong. Greens weren’t smooth, potholes all over the cart paths, and “sand” traps were either hard or muddy depending on the hole. Didn’t see a beverage cart the entire round. Definitely won’t be back for a while.
Rude Staff
Booked on Golf Now for 1. Booking says cart included. That's only 1/2 a cart. Doesn't say 1/2 cart included. They said you have to pay another $65 to get your own cart. Seriously? With covid and everything, they're pairing me up ON A CART with a stranger. They said that's how golf works. I started a league from my business here, I'll probably be moving that. Rude employee said I'll loose my money if I cancel today. That's fine, they'll loose the 10 people once a week when I move my league somewhere else. They were soooo rude.
