Crescent Oaks Country Club
About
Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Good course
Good course at a great price. Even after a lot of rain, the fairways were pretty dry.
nice course
Course has a nice layout and some easy and difficult holes. Greens were extremely slow and bumpy..may have been aerated recently. Overall good value and friendly staff.
Definitely plan to repeat
The course is very appealing overall but I just chose a bad day to try it. It was unseasonably HOT and, although I played on a sunny day, the area received a lot of rain during the past several days and casual water affected play on a few holes.
I'm also disappointed that the GolfNow Deal Caddy rate I paid wasn't actually an exclusive "deal" The players I was paired with told me they were charged the same reduced rate due to the condition of the greens -- which had just been aerated!
Awesome course!
The course was challenging enough but forgiving in some of the fairways. Well maintained course and greens. This course is close to where I live and the price is just right, we will definitely come back!
spotey greens
Some of the greens were in need of repair. There were patches with no grass.
Tee Time.
Our Tee time was scheduled for 8:55 am. We. Did not tee off until roughly 9:20. Why set a tee time?? "Members" were late. We were made to sit and wait. Looking @ an empty first tee for almost 30 minutes.
Course Review
Second time I played the course within a month. Greens and fairways not in the best of shape. Greens were patchy with replacement sod on some greens to replace holes. Course is challenging and very scenic but overall, course needs lots of maintenance attention.
Good layout
I always enjoy playing Crescent Oaks (CO) while visiting from Maryland, I was a little disapointed in he greens. I like the layout and the hot deals price was good. I have played CO when the greens were in excellent condition, this course is always on my play list while visiting the Tampa area. If I lived in Florida, I could see myself being a member of CO! I play this curse about 3 times a year.
Not for beginners
I love the lay out. Tee boxes on a few holes need some TLC. Greens were in nice shape. You don't need to be a long ball hitter but you better be in the fairway if you want to par.
Great layout but greens rough
Love the layout and lots of sand traps and great par 5 holes. The greens were aerated and rough but I think when greens are in good shape and I was a first timer I will play there many more times.
nice course, greens were terrible.
Overall, the day was decent. Not very busy, so we finished under 3.5 hours. The greens were recently aerated, so there were holes all over them. There were also several areas of sand and missing patches on the greens. $2 for a can of soda is kinda ridiculous too. Otherwise, it was a nice day to be on a course.
Great value
I always enjoy my time spent at Crescent Oaks. Public course with a country club atmosphere.
Beatiful Course, but conditions degraded
Was my favorite course last year, returned this year during my spring trip and was dissapointed by the conditions of the greens and tee-offs.
The course is very scenic and the distance is a nice challenge.
close to home
get there in7 minutes, clean and organized with friendly helpful staff. the course needs work on the greens and tee boxes but has a very nice layout,
Bare spots
If all the florida courses cared. I don't understand how you can have bare spots. there are some courses right now that have amazing greens. I played the biltmore the other day and they were phenomenal. These greens had bare spots everywhere. And there were also bare spots just off the fairway on every hole. Winter rules in effect and its 90 degrees out. Have to roll the ball to find a patch of grass, even in the fairway. What a shame. Tough course from the tips.
Great course.
Great course. Challenging yet enjoyable. Greens ran true. Staff are very friendly. Facilities are great. Definitely a must play if in the area.
Good Value
The staff was outstanding! The experience in the clubhouse and with the starter got the day off to a great start. The greens rolled very true. That being said many of the greens were very splotchy. The round was 4.5 hours but I had an early afternoon tee time. I enjoyed the layout and there was plenty of room of the tee. The tee boxes could be leveled and rolled. The hot dog was big but tough and not the best tasting,
Wide Open
This course is a wide open course, and I like that about it. The greens are always in good condition.
Good for the money, no real challenge
I lucked out an got a really nice day on the last of my stay in Florida, and experienced a good day all around. I was paired up with some really good guys that made my experience that much more enjoyable. Coming into the lot was easy, but finding the pro shop was not. Be sure to not drive around looking for where the bag drop is because you will be driving up to the first tee! The staff was friendly nonetheless, although I was rushed to the first tee, so there was no time for warm up as I was 20 min ahead of my tee time. The course plays open with abundant water hazards that only come into play a few times during the round. No real forced carries, but water does line some landing areas. It was wet in some spots, and dry in most places. The fairways were hard in some spots where my ball would roll and roll basically until it stopped off of the fairway. The greens were choppy in some places, but true for the most part. Lies were tight, so if you aren't used to that, beware. Bump and run shots are a must! No real rough on the course.
All in all, it was enjoyable, just not quite the challenge I was hoping for.
