Waldorf Astoria Golf Club

I have played about 10 different courses in the Orlando area in the last 2 months and the Waldorf was in the best condition by far! Greens rolled great, fairways were in excellent shape and while the roughs were dormant this time of year, the were full and in great shape. Not blotchy and chewed up like many of the other courses. The only area that I did not give 5 stars was Value but this was based on the full "rack rate" of $175/ round and the expensive drink prices on the beverage cart. We paid $100 ea. and it was definitely worth the extra $20-$30 compared to the other decent courses in the area. If you have a Junior golfer in your group, the greens fees are super friendly! We will definitely go back to the Waldorf to golf when back in Orlando.

First, this course is always in great condition and overall is quite beautiful. This particular round we were sandwiched in the middle of a pro-pro team tournament with pros like Lee Janzen, DiMarco, etc. So it was fun to see the pros ahead of us play the holes as well. The course conditions were very good as usual. Greens were terrific though surprisingly somewhat slower than you would expect. If there are any complaints, the two I have are: (1) the holes lack some variety since virtually all of them are basically straight with few if any doglegs and (2) many green complexes have a similar raised green which drops off sharply on at least one side and back into water hazards. So I think it is one of the better courses in the Orlando area and conditions are always one of the best, but layout-wise I like the variety of Orange County National Panther Lake better or even Rosen Shingle Creek a little more.

almost 5 hours to play. not because of crowds, some people should play executive coarse , please be mindful of others who do play often.

This is one of the best courses in Orlando that is not private. Attention to detail is well done. A lot of bunkers. Challenging but fair. Top notch.

My first time at this great golf facility.

While hitting included practice balls, staff member asked if I would like to team up with 3 others and get out in front of a rather large group.

Well, I jumped at the chance and we had a fantastic time.

Very challenging course...lots of water, a ton of bunkers and thick, deep bermuda roughs.

The only criticism I would have is that the bunkers, many of which I found, are not consistent throughout the course.

Played 5 rounds at 4 different courses through our 8 day stay and by far this was the best shape of all. Greens and fairways were lush. A little softer fairways than I would have liked, but expected as they had over-seeded for the winter grasses. Staff was awesome. Valet, bottled water, practice balls, GPS all included. Discounted replay as well. No additional charge for my non golfing girlfriend.

Met a lovely couple that I got to play with. Always wonderful playing with great people. Thanks Devin and Pam. The course was amazing some very long hole...not even Rory getting there..lol

We have played a lot of courses at home in the DFW, TX area, and none match this course. The range has a great setup for irons, but not so much for working on your driver. This and the lack of availability for a post-round practice session on the range were the reason I knocked 1 star off the amenities.

As for the course itself, it was outstanding. We played from the 2nd tees from the back, and while it was a challenge, it was not out of line hard. The greens were firm and very smooth, so once we got the putting speeds down, they were fair. The service staff was great, and we saw the beverage cart at least 4 times in a very fast 18 hole round that we finished in 3:35.

Love this place. Look backwards on some holes for excellent views.

We always enjoy the Waldorf golf club, but the lack of amenities killed the experience. We planned on having lunch at the club ( not open). No cart girl on course. Won’t be back until they are fully open. Stop with the COVID restrictions! People play golf to escape the shut downs.

Now I live here (moved about 3 years ago) but it’s great to be able to play in 68 degree weather in December at a premier course. Although not cheap, compared to the Ritz, which is a similar price point, I think this is a lot more value for money. The course layout and condition are the biggest differentiators. You can get some good deals on Golfnow as well to soften the fees.

I played the course last year and had such a terrific time that it was the first stop on my return this season. The course is amazing the practice facilities are first rate and the staff is warm and friendly. I highly recommend the Waldorf-Astoria course
