About
Wentworth Golf Club is routed through a scenic and varied landscape of woods and wetlands. At 6,459 yards, the golf course is relatively short but it offers a demanding, target-style layout. The course has narrow fairways and small greens that run fast. The front nine is routed through towering stands of cypress trees, pines, and mature oaks while the back nine has a more links-style layout that will test your shot-making skills. Water hazards come into play on several holes but the far more prominent features of the course are the massive bunkers that lurk beside the fairways and greens, ready to swallow even slightly errant shots. Careful strategy is required throughout the course in order to avoid losing balls. In addition to the challenging layout, Wentworth G.C. boasts superb conditions that are considered some of the area's best.

Course under maintenance
It's a really nice course, one of our favorites. BUT, there was no indication until we arrived that the course was under maintenance, big plugs covering the fairway, greens all sanded, had to play front 9 twice. Not what we signed up for. The course should not offer tee times without this disclosure.
they just aerated front 9 the day before and was doing the back 9 the day I played. Had to play the front 9 twice.

Tee Boxes
Tee Box's are more like sand boxes , Need some love. Greens in very good shape. Pace of play was very slow in front of us .

Believe the negative press
I have played here many times in the past and this course has really taken a turn for the worse. Greens are the only saving grace. The rest of the course looks neglected. For those of you from the Tampa Bay area all I can say is it reminds me of what has happened at The Claw. A wonderful track that has been run into the ground. I agree with a prior reviewer, one wonders what the membership and homeowners are thinking about this. As we get into April there will be much better courses at much lower rates.

Not great
We use to golf at course for many years, we haven’t been back for 2 years due to covid
We were extremely surprised with the condition of the course, it is in very poor shape. Even the sand bunkers were a mess.
Lots of golfers were complaining while we were golfing
We have always enjoyed the course and love the layout
Plus we were not aware that 5 players are allowed to play together.
There was no Marshall at all during the whole golfing time we were there.
We would like a credit for this course when we come back to play at end of year.
Hopefully it will be in better shape by then.
