Nice hole surrounded by water Photo submitted by u314163303368 on 09/26/2022
Ya beaut
Nice parklands course up near ballinscorney, nice and forgiving for the beginner and challenging enough for the so called experienced players. 14th holes a beaut. Will definitely be back.
Greens
This is a nice little course, but the greens leave a lot to be desired, they look and play quite poorly which is unfortunate because it is a very picturesque part of the world.
Secondly on buggies, at €25 for senior players is a bit over priced when a round is only €20 the buggies should not be dearer than the game.
Overall experience was fine.
Course has improved every time
I've played this course 3 times now. First time in 2021, it was little more than fields with some trimmed grass for greens. Last time was march 2022 and has seen some love with it's upkeep. Can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised this time around. Course has really seen some good improvements. Better kept tee boxes, fairways and greens. Even some added water hazards and features. Though it's not going to win awards anytime soon, it's well worth your time. Especially for its price point.
Lovely place, lovely people
My first time playing butter mountain golf course, what a forgiving, scenic and friendly place, on my way around I got talking to the head green keeper Patrick and what a job he and his team have done here, from what the members cullom and Paul told me this place is unrecognisable from three years ago and is still being improved upon, Patrick has a great knowledge of a life time maintaining courses the world over, just the 14th hole here is worth the green fees alone, I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone
The course is the beat I played so far
I have to say it a very good course. It a very friendly course to play. .I have to say it the best course I played yet.
A good golf challenge
My first time playing this course but I will return. It is located on side of mountains and hills so lots of undulations. It was raining and windy which made the challenge even bigger. I will return and play it when the weather is better for the hot deal
Price. The deal price on GolNow was suitable as I got a hot deal and it was the right price.
I’ll be back
The course isn’t as bad as what I was led to believe by reading previous reviews. Sure, there are some spots around the course that you wouldn’t want to land but overall I was happy - especially for the price!
Great course really good
This is my second time playing. The best course I played so far .
Course has great features
Due to the winter greens we were a bit confused at the beginning of our round.. bit it got better I ha e to say it was the best course I ha e being on in a
long time.. I will be back to play a few more rounds.
Great holes and great challenges
Loved it and will be back again great layout and my favourite hole was par 3 on an island
Priced very well, and a lovely course on a nice day.
The reviews are harsh on this course.
Pros:
There is some beautiful scenery
Plenty of long and challenging holes
Forgiving - you won't lose many balls up here
Easy Access - Always lots of tee times
Value for money - it's a bargain for the Hot Deal Prices
Cons:
Very few Yardage Markers
Greens and Bunkers are average at best
Very exposed (Wind can be a major factor)
Very Soggy Fairways on some holes in Winter
No practice green or range
Conclusion:
All in all it's a great place to get a tee time and a cheap round in.
Also excellent for beginners, or for anyone to have a casual round or even throw a few balls down for practice.
I'll be going back even though I have membership elsewhere.
