Escena Golf Club

Course was in very good shape. Staff is very friendly and you can play in 4 Hours and 20 minutes. Lots of water and sand traps, which makes it very challenging

Newish course close to downtown Palm Springs so very convenient if staying in Palm Springs. Course is laid out well and very well maintained. Greens are fast but true. A lot of undulations so hit the practice green. Staff is friendly without being oppressive. "Range" is a net so only good for warm ups, My only gripe is there is no snack bar so no food during the round. I would play again.

Let me start with the fact that my rating is due to slow greens. On the positive side, the course at Escena Golf Club is beautiful. The course is challenging, the layout is really very nice (especially considering its a public course)... and the overall condition of the club is excellent making the course at least as nice as many private courses... and given that ... the price is pretty darn reasonable (at least the deal I got through Golf Now).

Now the negative. The major bummer was the speed of the greens... I'd estimate they rolled at a 7 (max) and many of the tee boxes were on the overgrown side. Obviously the speed of greens is a major factor in making a round fun/challenging and the better courses generally feature fast greens. Green speeds are crucial to the game and one's experience. Greens that require really banging putts in order to get it to the hole despite elevation changes, undulations and break can really defeat the purpose of playing a good course. The public courses in LA like Encino and Balboa roll a lot faster and truer than my experience at Escena. The pro shop suggested afterwards that due to Saturday rain it was possible the grass wasn't cut etc. Not the best excuse and not one that should totally let them off the hook in my mind. All of that said.. I'd really love the opportunity to come back out with an accommodation so I can experience what the course was designed to play like. If it rained the day prior to your scheduled date of play ... warning.

Over the past three years I have played several games at the Escena Golf Club. It is an appropriately challenging course that never disappoints. This season, it is in extraordinary shape – great fairways, receptive, fair, and fast greens. A tremendous value. Escena offers an excellent mix of holes. All are unique. As the name of the course suggests, the course is very scenic. The pro shop is beautiful and well stocked. The staff - at all levels - is consistently professional, friendly, and helpful.

After golf, the Escena Grill offers a lovely setting, attentive and knowledgeable staff, and excellent food and drink.

Overall, Escena is a premier, Coachella Valley, golf and dining destination.

I booked a group of 10 players for the second year in a row. This is a must play on our annual Palm Springs golf trip. Great layout for players of all levels. Well maintained. Friendly staff in the Pro Shop, restaurant and on-course. I have nothing negative to say about this property.

Early tee-time worked well. Pace of play good (4 hours). Course in superb shape. Greens fast, fairways perfect. Front nine upped my confidence, which I needed for the much more challenging back nine. I really liked this golf course.

The course is a lovely one in beautiful condition but the pace of play was abysmal....a hold up on every tee box. They were clearly trying to squeeze too many golfers in and it made for a very miserable golf experience, the round took 5 hours which is not acceptable. There were no course Marshall’s in evidence to try to sort out the delays.

No cart service or anyone at 10th tee for food & beverage - slow play & no Marshall

Conditions de jeux impeccables. Très bien entretenu.

Pas de délais. 4h15 de jeu. Terrain un peu plus facile qu’en général dans le désert. Verts un peu plus lent qu’ailleurs. Bruits des avions permanents mais pas trop gossant.

Great Nicklaus design! Wide open enough , reached most greens in reg. but oh my lots of slippery 3 putts and heavy heavy sand!

Course is primo from start to finish

I consider Escena my favourite course. Every hole is unique and it is in great shape. The greens are challenging and well manicured. A must try for anyone who hasn’t played it.
