The course has both difficult and easy holes. Collectively the par 3's are the most challenging that I've played in the area. The par 4's are both easy and hard and the par 5's give birdie a possibility.

All in all I find the course to be a pleasure to play.

The only drawback( and I'm sure you've heard it before) is the lack of a driving range .

Favorite course in Palm Springs area, always in good shape, and no boring holes, if you are here for the Winter, get the players card and enjoy.

Gordo

Escena is a very good public course among a lot of public golf options in Palm Springs. A Nicklaus design, there is a good variety of long and short par 3s and 4s with interesting, well-bunkered greensites. Well fun, fun and worth a visit.

Course was a really nice course and in excellent condition. The entire staff -pro shop, starter, manager, player assistant- were all very pleasant, welcoming and went out of their way to make sure you had a very good experience. The green fees were very reasonable. Highly recommend you play this course if in the Palm Springs area.

Course was in excellent condition- tee boxes, fairways, and greens were lush and well manicured. It’s pretty wide open with nice elevation changes - not too much trouble on the front nine, but water and bunkers come into play on the back nine. The only possible negative is the courses proximity to the airport noise, but that’s a minor point. Would play again when I’m in Palm Springs.

I happened upon this course several years ago and now it is a must stop on every desert golf trip I make (I do 2-3 golf trips per year to the desert). The location is perfect for LA travelers as it is about the closest great layout to LA. As for the course, each hole provides a unique challenge especially when the wind picks up. Both holes 1 and 18 take three big hits to reach the par five greens in regulation. All pars three require a different club, with only one allowing for a high iron. Finally, the greens are huge, so the approach shot must be correct. For $80, this is one of the better deals in the desert.

I am a 10 index who travels to the desert a few times per year for golf weekends. My favorite tracks in the desert are Escena, Mountain Course, Stadium, both Indian Wells courses and Firecliff at Desert Willow.

An interesting well conditioned course. Good pace of play, good greens. Some houses on the course but they are well off the playing area so not at all intrusive. It is one of our favourite courses in the valley. The patio has one of the best views of sunset for after round drinks.

Love the course design, layout and condition. For what the price is we are actually saving at least 25% compared to similar courses. The restaurant is the best and also price of meal is very reasonable. Overall it is an excellent experience except for the slowness in play probably due to some overbooking and not enough time allowed for between each tee time. Otherwise, it was a 100% enjoyable experience.

Amazing layout, really challenging especially from the back tees. The fairways and rough were mint, bunkers were great and soft. My only issue is the practice bunker is completely different sand, why do courses do that?! Pace was under 4 hours, and even then the marshal was on my group for being out of position (in nicest possible way, motivated us not scolded us). Replayed for cheap and took only 3 hours. One of my best golf experiences to be honest, can't wait to go back. Order the mushroom burger, best burger I've ever had.

Escena has a great layout, the course conditions were very good and pace of play was excellent. One of our favourite courses in the valley. A few houses around the edges but generally house free.

We teed off at 1:30 planning to play the front 9 only. The pace of play was great so we completed 17 holes before dark.
