Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club
About
Opened in 1922, Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the Tampa Bay area. In fact, it's the only 18-hole golf course in Florida that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the centerpiece of the Temple Terrace community and it's much loved by locals. At 6,443 yards from the back tees, the golf course is short by modern standards but what it lacks in length it makes up for in other challenges. The layout has a traditional design with small greens and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Several strategically positioned bunkers also come into play along the greens. There are some tight spots and a fair amount of tricky holes, but overall Temple Terrace is player friendly enough for all skill levels.

Very nice, fun old Tampa course
First time playing here and was pleasantly surprised! The course was very fun, with quite a bit of movement in the greens. Fairways were in great shape, greens were perfect and rolled true, and are very well protected with green-side bunkers on practically every approach shot. A few holes had water hazards but was pretty easy to avoid them.
Overall, it's not a very hard course, unless you start hitting into the trees lining every fairway.
I'll definitely play it again!
Great layout
Beautiful greens and a nice layout. A few fairways are in rough shape
Old time goodness
My buddy from Chicago and I played and really enjoyed the course, courtesy and scenery. Lots of nice old homes and even a college along the course but not close enough to be a problem. The course was in great shape, both fairways, bunkers and greens. Will definitely play this again.
Nice old school course
Very straight forward design but still a challenge. Course penalized you if you got off the fairway. Condition was very good.
Thirsty
My gps kept taking me to 9 hole executive course mile away. Turns out new construction (moved club house) confused gps. Course condition (despite tons of rain) great and layout awesome. Felt like I was back in military with "tuck in shirt" rule. No water coolers on course, just one suspect water fountain. Greens and fairways great shape, bunkers maintained. A lot of traffic that will NOT yield. Off line shots will end up out of bounds in street.
Overcharged by staff
Course is in decent shape. New greens are rolling great . Worth a look if you haven't been recently. Only negative was the "stoner" in the Pro Shop who overcharged us $10??? Not a good look for a "Private Club".
A historic challenge
Beyond being on the national historical register, this course is fun and plays fair to any golfer .it has score-able holes and decently open fairways .set in the hills of temple terrace it has a litte elevation on number 10 playing downhill away from clubhouse I recommend this couse to any golfer.
Grea5 old golf course
I have always been one to enjoy the old golf courses. The beautiful old growth trees lining every fairway with the tees following near the previous green. This course has nice hills for a Florida course. The greens were perfect and staff could not be nicer. Great time!!
I will look forward to going back to enjoy Temple Terrace it was a pleasure.
Thank you Temple Terrace
Very nice layout and superb conditions. Loved the design and you cannot spray your drives -you will not score . Lots of Oaks everywhere and you will need to punch out as they hug the fairways. Not long but plenty of sand at the greens. Putting surfaces were smooth and fast enough. The staff was very friendly -really a nice treat.
competitive
Competitive course great shape would recommend for all levels of player's
A Very Pleasant start to October--Temple Terrace
Do yourself a favour and get to Temple Terrace as quickly as you can. Tight - Old school Golf.....KEEP IT IN THE FAIRWAY!.
Superb conditions! I was so impressed.
Excellent greens and fairways
As an older professional golfer, I have played my share of golf courses. I can honestly say that my overall experience was that the new improvements just made an already well-maintained course even better. The greens in particular are important to me and I found these to be challenging but fair. The putts rolled true even though they had been punched just a few weeks ago. The fairways rolled fast and had very few divots left unfilled. Bravo Temple Terrace.
Great Course
One of my favorite Tampa courses. Beautiful scenery. Not many houses near by so you feel like you're really surrounded by the course.
Good deal
Good deal for a semi private course. Greens were still lumpy from aeration and two holes closed for repair. For the price I paid great deal for this lovely, tree lined, convenient course through nice neighborhood.
Old style charm
Played on a Friday afternoon and basically had the course to ourselves. The course conditions were excellent. Food was a little pricey. The course has an appeal that can only be found on old courses. Enjoyed the round and will probably play again if I'm back in the Tampa area.
tall dark and handsome
My friends and I enjoyed this course....looking forward to returning soon
Hidden Gem
Overall enjoyable course!.....Greens always in great shape!!....Great price for a great place!!!!.....
Great old course
This course was built in the 20s but is in great shape. Some nice elevation changes that you don't see a lot in this area. Great mix of different holes overall and for the hot deal price it can't be beat
Challenging but a Fair Course!
The staff was friendly. The course was in great conditions especially since the greens were punched not long ago. They rolled fast but true. I enjoyed playing here and will be back soon.
Nothing special
Course was in good shape. Fairways were very soft and the greens tended to be a bit bumpy. Facilities are outdated. Members were playing ahead of us in groups of 5 and were slowing down play. They didn't even offer to let people play through. It was good for the small amount I paid but I likely won't be back and would never pay full price.
